Our friends and sponsors over at @beachcombercoffee have just recently opened their first coffee shop and we have to say it’s pretty awesome. They have of course great coffee, but also tea and yummy baked goods. We would love it if you paid them a visit when you traveling through Gibsons to one of our races.
When I was accepted to represent @orangemud years ago... I was elated, and still am. I thought it was just another company, but I was wrong... it is a family. They fully support my love of the run and it means to world to me that I get to represent them on their running team. Thank you Orange Mud for all you do for us humbled runners!! #orangemud#thedirtuniteliteteam#bestmaildayever#lovetherun @jcsprag #omlove
120.1k last week with 5065mtrs of elevation. Lots of fun runs and time spent with friends doing an epic day out. Think I might take a run rest day today, still have work later though😉 🏃🦄🌈🍺🍪 #capravert @caprarunning
I am not an even numbers guy. I will do the horrible and run 6.03 miles or even worse 5.98 miles. But today when I looked and saw that I had nice round even 130 days until my first 100 mile race, it got my attention, it made yesterday’s run even more important. Every mile logged for the next 130 days, will be done with purpose, because that 100 mile finish line MUST be crossed. ——-
I need the advice from those that have run 100 milers....for real, I beg of you, lend me your wisdom! -Reist

@zachbitter, I realize now, not all my heroes need carbs!
This was not my day. I wore two different shoes - one being my old stability rather than the neutral I recently switched to. While funny, it also led to some extra heel pain from the get go, plus knee pain on the side with the good shoe, likely due to weird running. The weather at the start through the turn around was perfect. I almost took off my light-weight rain/running jacket. Then the turnaround came and heading back north along the lakefront brought crazy winds and some rain. One mile left and we got a downpour. I don’t mind the rain, but that wind was tricky. And when my hands got wet, they were a tad cold. I wore shorts, but it was 38 degrees with the wind chill. They felt fine, but we’re mighty red when I finished 😂 Either way, I prefer that weather over 90, so no complaints from me. Anyway, the miles did not go quickly like they did last race. My mind just wasn’t in it. Oh well, I guess not all races for fun can be great. I like the race as a whole though, despite needing to use the bathroom, but not wanting to wait in the long lines along the course - I don’t think I’ve ever seen them so heavily utilized during a race before. I blame the fact that I actually needed to use them haha. How was everyone’s weekend?

I finished! I ran the best that I could. I wanted to finish in 11:30:00 but I ran a 11:37:24. I did beat my previous 50 miler by 58 minutes. I’m very pleased! And to top it off... I won first place in my age group and I will be receiving my award today! 🥇
There’s more that I want to say about this race and how I felt which I will share later today and tomorrow. I always like to take a day or so to reflect. Thank You to everyone who offered prayers, support, encouragement and love! ❤️
