The sun close to setting, from Olivers Hill, Frankston. Named after a local fisherman who built the first cottage on the hill in the mid-19th century. I’m really quite lucky that I live, and have always lived, pretty close this part of the world.
'Oliver's Point, Frankston'
F.W Niven & Co. Melbourne.
Possibly one of the loveliest postcards so far.
Dated April 1913.
Harry tells Minnie that this is a view 'of a place I visited on my holiday recently, nearly 500 miles from Adelaide. It was a wet day when I went there, but what I was able to see was very pretty.'
Yep, we agree with Harry, nothing has changed in that regard, it is still very pretty. #frankstonhistory#frankstonbeach#olivershill#frankstoncity
