Whilst I am slowly felting away you can absolutely trust and believe I will always have new supply goodies to share with you. Likely more than I will ever use but the inspiration is there.
Gorgeous papers of lace and violins and the sweetest button set. Do you spy the Singer?
These will very hopefully get used though as I have some special personal projects planned for this Summer. 💛 Who else has Summer goals?
Old Lace in a colonial window gets me every time. I don’t see it often anymore but when I do I think of Midsummer villages & quaint Mediterranean towns where the older women sit outside in the sun to crochet & chat; their Men sitting in the square drinking coffee, playing cards or checkers & where the pace of life appears to move much slower than ours.
Digging through the bucket of old trims is like a magical treasure hunt. There’s always those pieces collected and forgotten, those pieces of memories from old dresses, and the soft joy of rediscovery. I pulled these snippets of lace, vintage trim, and dyed silk for some tiny mouse couture. Ironed, rolled, and tied- they feel like history in my hand.
Just finished this simple bib tied in the back with a silk ribbon. I applied the lace off a damaged old hanky on it. I quite like the musketeer collar, and that was totally my impromptu idea!! #oldlace#antiquedolls#dollsclothes
