A week of Ramadan has passed, so that means we have 3 to go!!! It can be tricky maintaining you’re training and food but there’s a few things you can do to stay on top form:
1. Drink water! After your break fast, drink water throughout the evening in sips. If you gulp it down it will go right though you
2. Maintain the same training you would usually do with a decrease in cardio
3. Don’t try to overly improve beyond your usual training, just maintain
4. For iftar (the evening meal) don’t over eat till you feel sick and stick to your usual balanced diet
5. For suhoor (morning meal) eat a combination of carbs and protein that will last you through the day and a small amount of fat and sugar for energy. I think the ultimate meal is protein porridge oats with peanut butter and a banana
6. It doesn’t matter what time of day you train as long as you ensure you have time to rest and recuperate. I like to train after school everyday and rest on the weekends
7. Don’t treat it like a diet! Fasting can make people lose or gain weight and it is not a quick fix 
8. Remember what works for someone else won’t always work for you, so you have to get to know your body

CAKE FOR BREAKFAST?! Well kinda...
This morning I woke up fancying something sweet for my breakfast so decided to make an Apple Pie Mug Cake 🤤🍎. I'm always up for having 'treats' without having to eat all the calories and sugar so this is a simple, tasty and filling breakfast for me with 1 portion of fruit rich in antioxidants, flavonoids and fibre! Don't forget the benefits from oats too, a great carb and protein source loaded with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. This recipe is full of healthy and balanced ingredients to add to your diet, great for keeping me full, satisfied and giving me enough energy to train today 💪. Ingredients: 🔸1 medium Jazz apple (any is fine, these are just my favourite) 🔸35g oats blended to make flour (leave one tbsp aside) 🔸 Baking powder 🔸 1 heaped tbsp Vitalite dairy free spread (any is fine, this is for allergy purposes) 🔸 1 small egg 🔸1-2 tbsp Stevia 🔸1 heaped tbsp (30g) @alpro 'Go on' plain yogurt 🔸Cinnamon & Mixed spice 
Method: 
Melt the vitalite/butter for 20 seconds in microwave. ▪ Stir in Stevia and beat in egg ▪ Add blended oats and pinch of baking powder ▪Cut very thin slices of apple (about 4-5 slices) then grate the rest ▪ Add in grated apple and leave slices aside ▪Finally add your spices (I add lots because I'm obsessed with any spice) to taste ▪Give a good stir then microwave for 2-3 minutes until cake is firm but springy and soft ▪ Finish with a dollop of yogurt and add the apple slices, sprinkle some cinnamon on top then EAT 🐷😊.

Good morning! Fancy a sweet treat to start off the weekend? I made up these easy apple and rhubarb oat bars this morning for a fresh, filling breakfast with plenty of goodness in them! 🍏

Using @mornflake jumble oats, @alpro almond milk, 1/2 cooked apple, 1 cooked and chopped stem of rhubarb, coconut oil, milled seeds and a little maple syrup, each of these bars come in at 185 calories, with a high amount of fibre (4.5g), 4.4g protein, complex carb and 2.9g fat! A healthy way to start the day, and it tastes just like the classic British rhubarb crumble! 😋

My challenging breakfast this morning was oatmeal with a bit of 'Nutella'. I used to love it when i was younger and my granny made it for me this morning. At first i didn't want to eat it because of the calories and everything but in the end i did it and i'm proud of myself. It was also really good btw and i think i'll make it more often from now on 😇💓
