I feel a bit naughty putting chocolate on my oatmeal - I remember that I as a child would put way more spoons of sugar on my food than I was allowed, when my mom wasn't looking ... 😅😊 However! It is delicious, and I am an adult now and I will do as I please 😉

Happy Monday my friends! It is the start of a very busy week. I had to rush out the door this morning to go take an early exam so breakfast wasn’t nearly as pretty as this but it was still chocolatey 😏 Here we’ve got some dark chocolate oats with vanilla nice cream, frozen raspberries, crushed walnuts and hemp seeds.

I love including oatmeal in my breakfast routine. It’s so good for you and really helpful in getting important nutrients and weight loss. Oatmeal is slow to digest, is full of fiber, and has little affect on your blood sugar. Just keep it minimally processed (avoid instant) and plain. I like plain rolled oats and I add my own mix-ins to control the other ingredients. I accidentally turned off my alarm in the middle of the night and overslept so I practically ran home after physics I was so hungry 😅🏃🏻♀️ Definitely the perfect meal for this gloomy day— vanilla cinnamon oats (1/2 cup oats, 1.5 cups water, pinch of salt, tsp of vanilla, loooots of cinnamon) topped with bananas, figs, and walnuts 😋😋😋
I fell into the overnight oats trend, and I have to say these are quite delicious. ▪️▪️▪️
1/2 c oats, 1 tbsp chia seeds,1/2 c almond milk, 1/4 c coconut milk yogurt, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 medium sweet potato (skinned), and a drizzle of honey—shake well and let sit in fridge overnight. (Could add optional toppings like peanut butter, nuts, fruit, etc.)▪️▪️▪️I did a scientific research project for my class. We got to choose any topic, so I chose how excessive sugar affects the brain. The most simplified statement I can give: Excessive sugar practically does the same thing to your brain as opioid drugs...It can be challenging to get off your sugar addiction if you are in this cycle.
