Let me stay a moment more.
This blanket’s nice and warm.
The world is mean outside the door,
And I’m already torn.
Very soon I’ll have to go.
Of this I absolutely know.
But please! Let me stay a moment more,
I promise I won’t be long.
There’s warmth and comfort in the sheets.
Outside is just a cold stampede.
Between a mob of thoughtless beasts.
In a cycle that’s always on repeat.
But who am I to judge them all?
I’m too a snowflake in the fall.
I’ll be the bowling pin to oppose the ball.
Or just for a moment longer, let me try to stand tall.
A flight on circuits is who I’ll be.
Things can change, though not by me.
Owned by numbers I call myself free.
With time I do consolidate.
Fixed intervals, fixed breaks.
The unexpected met with hate.
So just for a bit. Let me escape.
How many times must I explain?
I ask for pittance in this time-frame.
Once coin for this sleeping arcade game.
Not playing for high scores, Not playing for fame.
So go hide behind the clouds you moon.
Let your clock be late and alarm out of tune.
Now I’ll hibernate in this cocoon.
I’ll come out of it. But not a moment soon!
Look at waking up everyday as a step forward, not backwards. Lets unify our consciousness and elevate one another rather than divide. We’re all going through the same shit, might as well do it together! 🗣
