Life’s a beach, and I’m just playing in the sand. With all the changes my life has taken, I’d say this will be the most rewarding. I’m thankful for the opportunity, for my family, friends, and the clear waters Miami has to offer me. #finsup
Postion Spotlight: Vita Vea DT, Washington.
NFL teams are starting to re-realize how important an interior pass rush is. Good QBs can step up and avoid edge rushers. However, DTs have the ability to push the pocket into the QB, and there is no accounting for that. Thats why I think Mr. Vea will be a hot commodity on draft day.
Vita is the most athletic 340 pounder I have ever seen. He is unbelievably quick for his size. He has elite ball get off, the guy is like a freight train when the ball is snapped. Vita is an elite run stuffer. He consistently wins the point of attack, with good hand placement, stacking blockers, and disengaging. Usually players his size are 2 down players, but Vita has an extremely rare combination of power, quickness, strength, and explosiveness. Which makes one hell of a pass rusher. Pac 12 teams would try to triple team Vita in pass protection (watch UCLA and Washington State games), and the he would still be in the QB’s lap. It is so valuable when teams have to account multiple players to neutralize another player. You give your teammates one on one opportunities to get home. My ideal fit for Vita would be the chargers. I don’t think he will make it to 17, but Him in the middle, Ingram, and Bosa off the edge would be scary. My only knocks on Vita would be his competition. Idk if he will be able to man handle NFL offensive line man like he did to Pac 12 lineman. There are also some concerns on how many snaps he will play a game. He is large man, so teams are questioning his endurance. Vita had some of the most dominant tape in the the entire class. He definitely a top 10 talent in this year’s draft.
