Day 19 of #MakersMay is What I’m Watching. 🖤 When the news came out that Brooklyn Nine-Nine was cancelled, I was gutted and started binging immediately old episodes, only to happily find out it was picked up by NBC the next day. The show is so good and always deserves a second (or third or fourth) viewing!
Name: Really Racy Ruana
Source: Ravelry (Sonja Hood)
Yarn: Impeccable by Loops and Threads
Hooks: The pattern calls for 10 and 13; I used 8 & 10.
Special Stitches: Wrapped DCs
Overview: So I made this for the opening weekend of Black Panther. I had a great time making this, but I didn’t add the edging because the item was already drowning me. It might have been due to the yarn I used, so I think I’ll try #3 light weight yarn next time. The wrapped DCs can be a little tricky, but they get easier with practice.
Name: Movie Night Cocoon Cardi
Yarn: Impeccable BIG! by Loops and Threads
Difficulty: Way Easy
Special Stitches: None
Overview: If you don’t know how to do a granny square, don’t worry! This is an excellent project to learn on, and once you get it down you’ll always know how! I used the whole skein of Impeccable Big and a little extra for this shrug, so prepare for that. It also works up pretty quickly. I started this around Christmas evening and finished up 3 minutes before New Years.
It’s Friday! Yay! It’s been so long since I did a #MeetTheMaker post, so I thought I’d pop on and share a little about myself for those who are new around here!
I’m the crochet designer, blogger, yarn dyer and pom maker behind @fibermeup - I guess you could say I do a little bit of everything when it comes to fiber arts!
I started dyeing and spinning yarn back in 2011, that’s how Fiber Me Up was created! Handspun yarn will always hold a special place in my heart - it’s where I got my start!
I’m a lefty crocheter and I’m told I crochet weird.. 😂 I hold the yarn in my palm/under my pinky.. and I guess I hold my hook in an odd way? (IDK! I’ve been crocheting since I was little and didn’t realize this until I shared a video here on IG last year and everyone pointed it out! 😆)
My 10 yr old daughter is my best friend and an awesome photographer/model! ☺️ She always comes to my rescue when I need pictures of new designs! If you see a photo of me, 9 times out of 10 — she’s the one who took it!
I have a slight addiction to @netflix! I love psychological thrillers and shows/movies about murder and the law. Stuff that makes you think and teaches you about people and how they think. I find that stuff really interesting! I literally #netflixandcrochet every chance that I get!
If you read this far, I really hope I didn’t bore you! 😂 Now, comment below and tell me something about yourself! 🖤
This is me today... Cracking on with my blanket making.... Making all the little squares I'd what takes the most time, but with Netflix on I can just sit and go. #crochet#blanketmaking#netflixandcrochet
