Just some of the people enjoying Janet Lynch's new exhibition "Journey - Without a Map" at our opening on Saturday. We've had amazing feedback about this show already, including this from one visitor - "it is a fantastically wonderful show, very striking and truthful". The exhibition is on until 5th May, we hope you'll be able to come and see it for yourselves.
STAND FAST: I'm teaching a 5 nights workshop at the @aslnyc. ANYONE can sign up for this, you don't have to be enrolled, but space is limited because I must blow your mind. This class is best for an artist who recently decided to take their work to the next level in the city but is looking for the how.
April 23-27, 6-9:30pm "This workshop, using critiques and group exercises, will introduce students to unlocking potentially compelling theoretical or conceptual elements inside their artwork and art practice. We will be talking about some archetypal ways contemporary artists make their art more conceptual. We will overview identity based art practices, process based art practices, and art historical based practices. Among other artists, we will case study our very own ASL alumni, Ai Wei Wei, Louise Bourgeois, William De Kooning, Georgia O’Keeffe, Jackson Pollock, and Robert Rauschenberg. Exploration of how these makers of art were able to break through and make work that compelled the art world to listen." 🔥Click the link in my bio.
