Was quite a surprise having @brokenxhope approach me at the #mortician show for @deathfests prefest show and thank me for including them on the @bangerfilms episode #brutaldeathmetal as part of the family tree. Of course we would include you guys, what you have done for #bdm is beyond what anyone else could contribute to the scene. Can’t wait to hook up again and get the stories straight from the band themselves. #desthmetal @jeremyxwagner @metzger_miczek

Good afternoon all. If your going away on holiday this summer and want something good to read then I would highly recommend this book. It’s called ‘Confessions of a funeral director’ by American undertaker Caleb Wilde. It is a brilliant book which gives a real insight on a very personal level to the American family funeral home. If your looking to read something that is on a more personal level then this could be the book for you. There’s no gruesome details in it about embalming, cremation or autopsies, there’s plenty of books out there for that this isn’t one of them. And it is a breath of fresh air that is doesn’t contain any of that stuff. Instead it delves down into the personal, spiritual and professional life of the author. It’s not a huge book but it is a page turner and is very well written from start to finish. I really enjoyed this book and I enjoyed how Caleb tells his own story using his experiences in the profession to do so. I can myself relate to a lot of what he talks about as I and many like me have experienced similar things. It was great for me as a U.K. funeral professional who works for a family business to see how an American family business operates. There are a lot of similarities but also some differences. All in all this is a really great book and I would encourage anyone to go out and buy a copy. @confessions_of_a_funeral_dir #funeraldirector#funeralservice#funeral#funerhome#mortician#morticianlife#undertaker#confessionsofanundertaker#confessionsofafuneraldirector#calebwilde#blog#blogger#influencer#book#bookrecommendations#bookreview#bookreviewer#bookreviewblog#death#deathcare#deathpositive#deathpositivity
I did it! Considering all the tears, wigs, blood, and anxiety filled nights - I am so thankful to be done with this. To all my family and friends, thank you for your constant support, help, and guidance. Yo girl received an academic achievement faculty honor list award.. To Lenard, Bitchfield, Dad, Mort Mom, Rachel, Christine, and my fellow Matzah ball.... I will cherish our friendship forever. I really don’t think I could have survived this program without you all. I love you guys. ✨💞💀⚰️
Before I dive right into my thoughts on this movie, I’m curious if any of you have seen it. If so what did you think? #Mortuary : A family moves to a rural town & takes over an abandoned funeral home rumored to be haunted. #Review : I think we can all agree that #TobeHooper movies were a little questionable in his later years. Despite that I have a soft spot for them. Particularly this movie. It’s such a atmospheric, psychedelic low budget camp fest. It’s starts off strong with an interesting premise, like-able characters, good acting, & an eerie setting but teeters off towards the halfway point into full blown ridiculousness. Which honestly I don’t mind. It makes for a one of a kind viewing experience. Sure the ending is laughable because of the shitty CGI effects. But it makes up for it with it’s the strong makeup, particularly in the zombies. They’re gooey & bizarre & the black fungus is creepy. Speaking of which this movie is grimy as hell. It’ll make your skin crawl with how gross & oozy some scenes are. There’s also some effective scares sprinkled in. Specifically the legend of Bobby Fowler. While the dialogue is okay & generic there’s some eccentric & odd moments that really grab your attention. Specifically the whole “graveyard baby” bit. It’s odd & hilarious. Overall this movie isn’t as bad as most people think it is. Sure it’s can be cheesy as hell but that exactly what it’s supposed to be. It’s mindless, fun, bizarre, over the top & creepy. So if you don’t mind weird low budget flicks I recommend giving this a watch. But be warned the ending is seriously strange.
THIS is how I feel when thinking about green burials—body returned to the earth that sustained it, no barriers to decomposition, no chemicals, no silly vaults or expensive coffins, gradually becoming one with the earth again. And it looks so peaceful doesnt it? #greenburial Anyone know the artist?
This was a huge bucket list band, and dude to meet. People say @ironmaiden is there band, or @slayerbandofficial or @judaspriest As being the band to travel for. #brutaldeathmetal#deathmetal is my scene to travel for. Been since their @relapserecords #mortalmassacre 7” that I found a band I felt was my band. #mortician rules!!! . Will, see ya soon man in #newyork for the #gutturalsecrete @dehumanizednydm @cephalotripsy_ show.
In my pursuit to never stop learning I have decided to do something I've been wanting to carry out for sometime, which is to go back to school for mortuary science. The study of life, death, and helping people through these times has always been an interest of mine, so I was excited when I found out I was accepted to Gannon University's mortuary science program. #mortician#mortuaryscience#college#death#life @thegooddeath #deathpositive#deathpositivity#backtoschool
Hello there. I've noticed a few more friends following @violetjune_co and I wanted to say a little something about myself and the company. 🦋
I am first a mother to my beautiful daughter, Violet and a wife to my amazing and supportive husband. I work full time in a Mortuary and have a license in Funeral Directing and Cosmetology.👩💼💄
I love all things creepy and beautiful in the world and beyond.. my sign allows me to see the good and bad in every situation and it's just as much a blessing as it is a curse I think.
Nature calls to me every day. One day when my time comes to leave this earthly realm, I will be united and one with nature again. 🌱
I enjoy art, music, photography, history, traveling, food of course, warm drinks, looking at the sky, furry friends (cats mostly), anything dark or mysterious. I'm also slightly OCD and strive for perfection in everything I do. 🤓
💜 Violet has taught me so much about who I am and what kind of mother I strive to be every single day. I look forward to the day that we can share in working with herbs and oils together! 😌 I really can't wait until she sees just how much she has inspired me. ✨
So thank you for your constant support, I AM a busy bee but I enjoy making and creating self love goodies for you! 👁️🍶🌿
Can I say AMEN to words that I spoke?? I didnt originate this quote but it so succinctly expresses my feelings about life and death that I use it at the end of my death planning consultations. A woman named June Graham created this beauty and I’m so touched by it. Thanks June!!!! #letuslive
I’m sorry in advance but I have to.
This post goes out to one of my best friends in the whole world. We’ve been through so so much together, between her being my coach, coaching along side her, and going on crazy adventures together. I love her so much and I’m putting this out there because she’s graduating today and I can’t be more proud of her. It gives me flashbacks to when we were in the stadium stands or on the guard bus and we studied her ridiculous notes and all the funeral director theory and anatomy and all this crazy shit. But today is her day, and I can’t believe she’s come this far. She got so many internships and made it so far in life for being so young still. Slay your day, girl! I love you so much McKenna, and I’m so proud of you.
P.s, you look hella cute in your cap and gown. @mckenna.sickels
