Do you think Leonardo Di Vinci (for those of you know who me know he’s my favorite human), said I CAN’T be an artist, engineer, mathematician, architect, inventor, writer, and scientist? Absolutely not. Even despite his family and others thinking he was absolutely insane to invent flying devices, amongst other things, he did it anyway. Today it’s easy to look at his accomplishments across all fields from anatomy to technology; but once upon a time he was just a man, a bastard, a disappointment for not becoming a lawyer, and crazy for thinking he could ever be more.
Where ever you look across all walks of life, our leaders who have managed to make an imprint on the world had one major thing in common. The crazy belief that they were capable of greatness. A belief so strong it would have been impossible to sleep in and ignore it.
It’s time to take RISKS, bet on ourselves, REBEL against social norms, and most importantly LIVE with an undeniable belief we are capable of greatness! 🙌🏼💰🏆

One struggle of mine since the beginning? Plank form!! Especially when I'm rushing it or not spending the time to THINK about my muscle activation! Ex: my shoulder blades in this photo🤔

I’m totally OBSESSED with this recipe!! If you love banana bread and want a healthy alternative, then I suggest you give this recipe a go 🙌🏼 it’s honestly so good and super addictive! I love having a coffee or tea with a slice (or two) of it topped with either peanut butter or @borncultured Coconut 🥥 yogurt (swipe left).
Good news is I still have some ripe bananas left in my fridge... I know what I’m going to be making with them!! 🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌🍌 Healthy Vegan Banana Bread 🍌🌱 1 & 1/2 cups plain rolled oats
1/2 cup of almond meal
4 peeled overripe bananas (*plus 1 to place on top of the bread)
4 tbs chia seeds mixed with 1 cup of water
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp of baking soda
3 tbs of extra virgin olive oil
6 pitted Medjool dates
1-2 tbsp maple syrup (*optional, for extra sweetness)
1 tsp of coconut sugar (*optional, to sprinkle on top of the bread)
Preheat oven to 180C on fan forced.
Place the chia seeds in a bowl with water and allow to soak for 5-10 minutes (mixing a few times).
Place the 4 bananas, Medjool dates, chia mix, oil & vanilla extract into a food processor and blend until smooth.
Add the cinnamon, baking powder and baking soda to the food processor and blend.
Lastly add the oats and almond meal, then blend again until smooth.
Pour the mixture into a silicone loaf mould (or other greased tin), top with 1 sliced banana and sprinkle with coconut sugar. Then place the tin in the oven and bake for around 30 minutes, depending on your oven. It will be ready when a skewer comes out clean.
Once cooked, remove the bread from the oven and allow to cool.
Transfer the bread to a wire rack and allow to cool further before slicing.
Something that has become so magical and sacred to me and essential to moving through my day in alignment with my spirit and in a state of peace, trust, love, calm, and enthusiasm. ▫️
NOW, don't get it twisted, I am not bursting like a beam of sunshine out of bed at 6am, smiling while I flip my gluten free pancakes, and ready with a perfectly pressed outfit and a fresh manicure - this process is messy and never perfect, but I recently committed to making sure I'm up 2 hours before I need to go anywhere so I have an hour for myself and then an hour to shower, get ready, and do what I need to do.
Mindful morning routine essentials?
🍍4 deep belly breaths right when I wake and sit up (if I don't have to pee immediately 😆)🍍A quick 5 minute stretch and a glass of water to get my blood flowing, whatever feels good🍍Phone on airplane mode for at least 30 min and no social media until I've been up for at least 3 hours🍍Instrumental music of some kind while I walk Bruno-I love jazz, Spanish guitar, ambient, and classical 🍍A delicious cup of black coffee, I love @groundworkcoffee Bitches Brew 😏 some fellow health nuts may not agree with this, but it is a ritual I love and I try to stick to just this one cup a day. 🍍Journaling of some kind- either free writing or writing affirmations or intentions🍍Reading. At least 15 min of quiet reading time🍍Meditation of some kind. Some days this is just those morning breaths, some days I mediate to a guided track for 30 minutes. I just listen to what I feel I need. ▫️
Now there are many days where not all of this happens, there are days where none of this happens, but as long as I set the intention to have some sort of moment for me to get in the right headspace, my experience of life is infinitely more flowing. I cherish and savor slow, peaceful mornings. Know you are worthy of this and it is so important to give yourself some time to not rush and not need to answer to anybody, so you can come back into the world as the best version of you. In the end, loving your life is about trusting your intuition, taking chances, losing and finding happiness, cherishing the memories, and learning through experience.
It’s a long-term journey. You have to stop worrying, wondering, and doubting every step of the way. Laugh at the confusion, live consciously in the moment, and enjoy your life as it unfolds.
You might not end up exactly where you intended to go, but you will eventually arrive precisely where you need to be.
Traveling back Thursday to last week and my favorite sunrise that jumped straight out of an avatar movie
On this particular morning, I came downstairs to sit by the pool at 5:45 to have my coffee and catch the humungous Rio sun. Surprising me was this beautiful 20 something Portuguese girl sitting in the corner chaise. I sat two seats away from her trying to get the perfect front row seat. In between our gazes out we chatted in our common language, Spanish. That morning, the feelings I had sharing this sunrise ironically set the vibe of the day and trip.
From single mom barely making ends meet to paying for new floors and after school activities.
From exhausted everyday and irritated to feeling ALIVE, having dance parties in the kitchen and enough energy to WANT to play after a full days work.
From being on the up and down elevator of lose weight, gain weight to now feeling the best I’ve ever felt!! From constantly worrying about missing a workout or having food from a wrong container to eating healthy and enjoying guilt free LIVING!! From feeling limited in my beliefs to having BIG dreams that are totally attainable!
