We got to see a lot of neat stuff at the "Destination Moon" exhibit Sunday at the @stlsciencecenter . Pictures in order: Apollo 11 command center Columbia (wish they let you see the inside), F1 rocket engine injector plate found in the Atlantic ocean, Buzz Aldrin's gloves and helmet with mission reminders on the gloves, an amazing looking moon rock Last one is just @ekboulch 's artwork at @gastropit bbq joint down the road 😊 she surprised me with the tickets to this, and it was awesome being able to see pieces of history, especially considering the exhibit is only going to 4 cities! - #apollo11  #moon  #moonrocks  #destinationmoon  #stlsciencecenter  #space  #buzzaldrin  #flatearth  #fakemoon  #itsallaconspiracy  #dontbeanidiot  #history  #moonlandings  #theywerestaged  #consiracy  #getreal  #itactuallyhappened  #growup
The view after leaving work earlier today. I’ll just call this “A tribute to the American Space Program during the Apollo era.” .
.
I hope in not violating US flag code by posting this... but most of y’all disrespect the flag by wearing clothing with the flag on it anyway, so it doesn’t matter too much. .

In a few years, history would repeat. It wouldn't be JFK, but @elonmusk and the destination being Mars. 🚀💖💞 #interplanetary #martian #Apollo11 #lunarlanding #manonmoon #moonlandings #neilarmstrong #buzzaldrin #johnfkennedy #usa #nasa #spacex
So what’s up there, anyways? A map of the moon with artificial objects highlighted; Apollo remnants are green, Surveyor spacecraft are yellow & the Russian Luna probes are red. Surveyor ran from Jun 1966 - Jan 1968 & sent 7 robotic spacecrafts to the moon. It was testing the possibility of soft landings on the lunar surface for a future crewed landing. Luna was a Soviet space program which ran from 1959 - 1976. Luna sent 15 successful robotic spacecraft to the moon. & of course the Apollo Program successfully sent 6 crewed missions to land on the moon between 1969 - 1972. #lunarsurface #apolloprogram #nasa #moonlanding #astronauts #spacecraft #themoon #spacerace #spacecraft #astronaut #spaceexploration #moonlandings #spaceage #luna1 #nasa🚀 #spaceprobe #lunarlanding #spacehistory #apolloprogram #manonthemoon #1960s #spacetravel #lunarlandings #lunarlander #projectapollo

✨For All Mankind: Vintage NASA Photographs from Apollo Moon Landings 1963 – 1980✨
.
Private View: Monday 23 April 2018
.
Public Talk: Tuesday 15 May 2018✨A special presentation by distant galaxies and quasar expert Dr Marek Kukula from The Royal Observatory Greenwich (ROG).
.

Exhibition Dates: 24th April – 17 June 2018
.
This exhibition comprises an overview of space exploration from 1963 to 1980, providing a comprehensive selection of twenty-four rare vintage NASA photographs.
.

The achievements of NASA and the Apollo programme languished in the popular imagination from the end of the 1970s until the early 2000s, neglected in the wake of previous euphoria. The exploration of Mars, space tourism, the commercial satellite market and the successes of recent probes including Rosetta, Juno, Cassini and New Horizons clearly demonstrate that space exploration is once again at the very forefront of public and, increasingly, private agendas.
.
The vintage photographs exhibited, many of which retain original NASA catalogue stamps on the reverse, were taken by the men, women and machines of NASA over a period of nearly twenty years. They include photographs from the Gemini 4, 5 and 7 missions; Apollo 8, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16 and 17; and the Mercury-Atlas and Voyager missions. They also include historic and iconic images such as Ed White’s spacewalk....

Scientific FACT repeated by many modern day astronauts.. "There is no sound in space". Apollo 17 here conducting an experiment on the moon, banging noises loudly heared as clear as day.
Same on a number of other moon missions, why???
