Morning off, my plan is to sleep in but my cat won't let me, they all just kept meawwww to wake me up, and then this happened, one of them had decided to bring this baby monitor lizard, and it still alive this is first time I felt like I'm gonna have heart attack.

On today’s menu is chopped chicken neck (bone in), heart and liver soaked in yolk and the egg with shell on the side. 🦎🐣 Keeping a varied diet for your monitor lizard is really important to avoid health problems like MBD. They get their nutrients from the bone and organs of the animals they eat whole in the wild.
With its the scaly skin and unusually long tongue, the Komodo Dragon has more than a passing resemblance to the fantastic Gene Simmons , lead singer of the band Kiss.🤘🏻
However, unlike Gene, you should avoid Crazy Crazy Nights with the dragon as it is an apex predator and has a nasty bite. Luckily for us it’s only found in the islands around Komodo so we get to see its awesomeness up close and personal on most of our Komodo trips. #komododragon#komodo#komodonationalpark#phinisi#exploredreamdiscover#monitorlizard#kiss
48 hours worth of work later and the Lizards are in their new homes. They are not finished yet but good enough for them to live in for now. The lids and openings have been fully sealed with rubber/neoprene edging. Last step is to insulate the sides and cut the insulation blankets that will sit on the top of the tanks to keep in the heat. These are 10mm glass 3ft x 2ft x 2ft. Reason for turning away from wood enclosures is it is cleaner and easier for us to use glass and add insulation to the outsides. I couldn't stand the sliding doors anymore - with the Ackies always filling the tracks with sand. Now the babies have full time access to a foot of substrate! Yay for happy Ackies digging happy burrows! I also want to add a back climbing wall soon! Note: I went overboard adding water to the substrate, need to dry it out a little with a space heater tonight 🌿
Blurry collage because I'm not ready to do a proper reveal quite yet - but by this time next week, I'll have my little monitor baby in my hands! ❤️ I feel like the wait from finding out that someone had actually bred them in such close proximity to me (3 hours drive away) to actually being told that they're progressing well and that I can come through and fetch my baby - feels like years! I'm going to spend this week decorating the new baby's enclosure (he'll be staying indoors until he's grown to a size where I feel comfortable giving him an outdoor enclosure) and counting down the days in this week to Saturday! 😍 I have the privilege of working with 2 of these beautiful animals, so I'm familiar with their temperament, diet, size, requirements and so on - a disclaimer in case anyone thinks I'm rushing into this blindly. I'm aware that they grow to a decent size and I'm not going to throw in the towel when he/she gets "too big". 😊😊😊 I'm so ready and so excited to raise this little angel from gecko size to full blown monitor size, to watch him/her grow, eat, and learn to trust. I know this experience is few and far between around here, and I know I'm one of the luckiest people around to be able to have this opportunity ❤️❤️❤️
I got a new dog! He was wild caught and shipped to me from Florida where they are invasive. Rodney Irwin was so friendly with me and got me such a beautiful healthy guy. He is missing his forearm which is the reason I got this one. If anyone is looking for a Argentine Black and White tegu I would high recommend looking up TegusOnly aka Rodney Irwin #tegu#monitorlizard#monitor#rescue#reptile#reptilesofinstagram#lizardpuppy
