Over the weekend, in between the never ending list of chores and ballet classes, we managed to visit some local artists' open studios. It was so inspiring seeing other people's work and their creative homes. It spurred me on to finish this pastel drawing of Peggy.
This gorgeous chap turns four in a few days! So much has happened in the last four years but I can clearly remember the excited anticipation I felt as we drove across the country to meet him for the first time. This pastel portrait is from a photo I took a couple of years ago. He is still as adorable but his cheeks aren't quite as impressive!
Good morning- hope your week is going well. I’m having one of those times where I’m lacking inspiration and direction (I hear it’s happening to a few of us on IG at the moment!) I always tell others to try not to over think it, until it passes. (It’s hard to take my own advice!!) So today I’m posting one of my favourite shots from a while back. (Hoping my “mojo” will return soon!!) Happy Wednesday ❤️
Good morning- my painting #wip of Bouguereau’s portrait of Gabriella Cot. Such a huge challenge of a most romantic portrait (I must look up the story behind the original!) A little way to go (it was originally going to be an eye study!) Have a great Tuesday 💕
Good morning- I’m always nervous to post something different on my page- I’ve always had a fascination for eyes and have begun a series of studies. I thought I would start with a study of one of Bouguereau’s paintings. I’ve started this one in oils, with reference shots of his portrait of Gabrielle Cot (1890) I was only looking at the eye but it is expanding! I hope you like it- can’t wait to get back to it today. Happy Wednesday 💕 Thank you to @paulo_frade for the inspiration!
