Our #toddleryoga series starts Tuesday 3:00-4:00pm! Why do kids need yoga? Our most recent blog post (link in bio) has 4 Reasons Kids Need Yoga!
Reason #4 : Kids de yoga reduces stress and teaches them to relax. Kids, like us, experience stress - school work, peer pressure, family dynamics and more create stress for children and yoga gives kids permission to let go, feel the stress and let it go. Yoga soothes the nervous system and calms the mind. Read more on our blog. Your toddlers will love the yoga!
If you haven’t had the opportunity to do so, I HIGHLY recommend rereading Dr. Seuss’ “Oh, the Places You’ll Go” as an adult, and really taking in the message. This is one of the books we will be reading and discussing in my mindfulness workshops.
In my opinion, this is one of the best childrens’ books ever written. Dr. Seuss had the incredible ability to talk about BIG ideas in his books in a way that children can understand. In this book he is talking about life in a very real way, it’s very encouraging, but also doesn’t shy away from the hard parts that we all face at times.
I think it’s important for kids to know that life is a wonderful thing, and there are going to be so many great moments... but it isn’t always going to be perfect.
I look forward to hearing what all your kiddos take away from this story!
On the weekend, I was spoilt with gifts for my birthday. An amazing friend bought me this incredible book and journal by Arianna Huffington. This book urges all of us to get in touch with who we are, so that we can live life to the fullest. Love receiving gifts that help me become a better person, as I know that it in time, it will help my children and our younger generation to love, accept and find themselves. @ariannahuff 🙏🏻
They’re here! 💥 Thank you so much for your feedback - a huge 81% of you voted for the new design and I’m so pleased with how it all looks 💛 Here’s what we’ve done:
✨Added a large title for each card to help the activities easy to find 🔍
✨Switched the colour from the text to the background - lots of you said it makes the cards easier to read and helps them to stand out 👀 ✨Changed the packaging to something a little more robust 💪
✨Made some small improvements to the activities✏️
What do you think?! 💛

Nora Santini books aim to inspire children to be mindful of their surroundings, and in turn, better able to manage stress, time, and emotions 🦄 we hope all of the mindful moms out there are having a beautiful Sunday!
Mindfulness for Kids: I use these meditation balls to practice mindfulness and now Arabella loves using them too. They’re great at keeping her mind focused on rolling them in her hands and not dropping them to the exclusion of all else. Such concentration and focus is needed to use them - they’re a great way to start kids practising mindfulness early on❤️ #mindfulnessforkids#startthemyoung#makemindfulnessfun
Nature joy/gratitude journals would be a great way to help your children mindfully notice what they see out and about.
Perhaps placing pressed flowers or writing observations of things they can see.
Gratitude journals are wonderful at helping to tune little(and grown) minds to focus on positive thoughts.

BUBBLE BREATHING in this morning's kids class 🌬🙌🌬
Bubbles help to show little yogis the amazing transformation of what happens when you breathe deeply from your lungs! 👌🤗👌
It's also a great mindfulness practice to get them to notice how many colours they can see in each Bubble! 💙💚💛💜

This week we did the famous Marshmallow Test in my kid’s classes. Can you not eat the Marshmallow?! Not only did we look at delaying gratification but at self control and self regulation. What does it feel like to want to eat this or just pick it up and touch it.. but not act on it?! 21 kids explained how hard it was to feel the discomfort in their body but not act on it! Impressive... of course as a reward they got to eat some and make marshmallow rockets out of toilet paper tubes and balloons! #mindfulkids#mindfulkidsla#kidsclass#losangeles#selfregulation#marshmallow#mindfulnessforkids
Out pounding the pavement today! The first class is quickly approaching! If you haven’t enrolled your child yet, now is the time, my friend! If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me. (Flyer cred: the majestic @leedee06!)
Teaching kids yoga has inspired me and humbled me in so many ways. The very first time I brought a group of children into Savasana and witnessed the stillness after an energetic practice my heart soared. I knew in my heart the lessons they were learning in that moment would carry them into the rest of their week, months and years. Call on your breath during times of stress. It’s okay to take time to be still. The magic comes from within. ✨
I will be teaching a 6 week Young Yogis class through the Common Moms starting on Sunday, May 27th from 10:30 to 11:15am. This class is for 4-7 years olds. ✨
Kids will learn to connect with their breath, and steady their balance. We will play games with our yoga poses and use activities that cultivate mindfulness. It is truly a gift to have this opportunity to shape young bodies and minds. ✨
If this sounds like something your kids would enjoy, sign up via the link! 'She believed she could, so she did'
I am confident.
I can find solutions to my problems.
I am bold.
I am beautiful.
Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. When you repeat them often, and believe in them, you can start to retrain your mind to positive thinking and self belief.
I am thinking of making some of my original art into empowerment/affirmation cards. What do you think?
YES! In my experience, children always seem to come by acceptance naturally. It isn’t until they start being exposed to the negative judgments of others that this starts to change. Let’s foster that natural acceptance of others’ differences and help it to grow with them!
A little Friday flow to send us into our April break. 🧘🏼♀️How stinking cute is my class? They were silent the whole time we did this and they were SO flexible and responsive throughout the sequence. Happy Spring break teacher friends, we earned it! 🥂
