Hello from sunny ABZ. Such an awesome day with family yesterday and way too much gin consumed 😂. Also introduced the family to the masterpiece that is @kendricklamar latest album. Damn, it's literally the best album I've heard in years.
Got some more family popping round later today and having a big BBQ followed by watching the Champions League Final. My stepdad and his whole family are Liverpool born and bred and huge Liverpool FC fans. So C'mon Liverpool! ❤️❤️
What I brought to reduce the amount of waste during our vacation: lots of cotton bags for grocery shopping, reusable water bottles and coffee cup, containers for snacks, handkerchiefs, solid shampoo, soap bar, deodorant creme, toothpaste tabs, tea strainer, stainless steal straws and napkins. ✔️

who doesn’t know this moment: browsing through social media, going from feeling good to feeling bad because all of a sudden your ego started to take over and you are in the midst of the road of comparison. “Why is she so perfect? Why don’t I live in such a gorgeous home? Why am I not living this perfect life?”
Be honest, doesn’t that sound familiar? It sure does to me.
What if I would tell you that there is a way out of it? A way to turn negative comparison into a positive experience?
A few weeks ago I learned that there is. I was in the midst of visualizing my future, thinking about all my dreams and ideas about life, when I was starting to dive deep into comparison whenever I was browsing social media. In that, I began to reflect on that social media+comparison. And I started to turn the negative comparison I was feeling into a positive experience.
In today’s post, I share with you what I learned, how I turned things around and how you can do to. You can find a direct link to today’s post in my bio.

Heading for the airport right now, leaving amazing Phu Quoc. Tomorrow I leave Vietnam for good and I must say that I am really sad about it. It has been 15 amazing months ❤🌴It will forever have a special place in my heart.
It’s not about what you get, it’s about who you become. We all need goals and reasons to get up in the morning but sometimes people can get lost in the outcome, what they are going to get from it and quite frequently the goal actually isn’t really theirs in the first place but an expectation put upon them externally and a need to impress others. Push that thinking aside, find your own goal, pursue it, take in every step; the good and the bad! Let it change you and when it does, let this happen effortlessly, don’t cling to what was. Use this new transformation to push you higher into your next goal. Take others with you and teach them what you’ve learnt. The mind is powerful and limitless but this won’t come from simply reading positive memes! It takes real commitment to inner work and an intrinsic desire to change but once you’ve made that decision ... anything is possible 😊
🛏🌱Green Cleaning the bedroom!🛏🌱
Even if you’re diligent about washing your sheets, you might be forgetting blankets and duvets. Wash all bedding, including your mattress cover, once a month. Launder in hot water to kill dust mites. Better yet, treat yourself to a new set of 100% organic cotton sheets not treated with pesticides or formaldehyde.
🛏 DIY Mattress Cleaner 🛏
This simple easy recipe of baking soda and essential oils will deodorize, eliminate moisture and kill dust mites in your mattress. Just add in peppermint + lavender & I always add in tea tree essential oils to safely and effectively remove dust mites.
👉🏼Combine 1/2 cup baking soda with a dozen drops of essential oils (6 drops each of Peppermint & Lavender (add Tea Tree if you want also)🙌🏼🛏
👉🏼Sprinkle the baking soda mixture onto the mattress and let it sit for at least an hour, but the longer the better! Then vacuum up the baking powder and replace mattress cover. .
Don’t forget your pillows too 👌🏼😘🌱
Been feeling a bit of excess Vata around this week, so ensuring all my classes this week have been grounding and conditioning for the nervous system.
When Vata is out of balance we can feel a little:
- overly cold
- dry skin
- easily distracted
- overly emotional
This list is pretty much my personal bio right now. And that’s ok as long as I am aware and know how to take steps towards balancing myself.
First, I watch my yoga practice carefully and make sure it isn’t overly stimulating, but rather focus on a strong mind body connection with focus on breath, ensuring the relaxation response is switched on.
Second, I watch my diet and understand that foods that can aggravate Vata dosha are some of the so called healthy foods like raw foods, big salads, green smoothies – will throw Vata out of whack. But for other dosha types, this food is super.
When Vata is in balance, you feel creative, light and free.
Understanding your personal dosha and also the how the doshas relate to the seasons and weather empowers us with the knowledge to bring our equilibrium back when we are out of whack.
There are lots of quizzes you can take online to find out your personal dosha, but if you wish to learn Ayruveda in a bit more depth, stay tuned for dates on our Ayurvedic workshops coming to the studio soon.

As my children have grown up from babies and started school I've noticed how being "busy" is somewhat worn as a badge of honour. Parents proudly compare how many activities or classes their kids attend after school each week, and talk on Fridays at school pick up ultimately turns to "what are you doing this weekend". And I always thought "I won't be like them" but then your kid finds something they love and they do well at it and enjoy it and it's keeping them active, and it becomes so so hard to say no. I have a four year old that does dancing one night a week, and my almost 8 year old does girl guides one night, and dancing another night. For now we have told them this is the limit. Trying to explain to young kids that they need time to be with their family, to relax, to unwind, to play with kids in their street is hard. But it is now quite rare for them to say "what are we doing today" on the weekends, they have 100 ideas of what they want to do at home together and me making plans would just get in the way of that (and probably cost me money. Of course we still see friends and invite people over, we go out for meals, visit the beach etc, but I always find having at least one day at home where they can make their own plans and relax puts them in such a better mood, plus it allows me to pursue things that I enjoy too (mainly cooking and sewing). .
