Honestly, one of the things I was most excited about when we were planning Melbourne was the food. I got some really passionate recommendations from people for their favourite restaurants, brunch spots and coffee shops. @chinchin was 100% the most commonly recommended spot though. Everyone I talked to about going to Melbourne instantly said ‘OMG YOU HAVE TO GO TO CHIN CHIN’ with such enthusiasm and admiration for the place that it was a must.
So, exhausted and jet lagged AF we went to Chin Chin on the first night and holy shit was it worth it. From the awesome yet very strong drink, to the food, the customer service we got to the cookbooks we bought out of excitement, it was an experience and a half and I loved every second of it.
We hit so many awesome spots though. @manchesterpress @hoteljesus @pastusorestaurant @highergroundmelbourne were the major ones. Every day we made sure to hit at least one big foodie spot.
Next time I go, and when I’m feeling a bit less budget conscious, I will do Attica. At almost $500 per person with wine pairings (which you have to do) it’s for sure an experience you have to invest in, but one I’m super excited to experience one day. .
An amazing night began with a couple of snacks similar concept to @hentleyfarm’s innovative dining. The Jersey cream drizzled with honey presents @hentleyfarm’s logo.
These were paired with Reflexion’s Fume Blanc, Mount Mary, Yarra Valley. .

Almond praline on point 👌🏼
Hot tip, if you want a clear, glossy caramel on your finished praline everything needs to be hot! Make sure that the item you are folding through your caramel has been heated.
