At some point you may stray...and He'll be waiting.... ________
I believe I have a great relationship with God and I believe it's the greatest thing I have. But, like all relationships, you have to tend to it and work on it consistently to make it strong enough to withstand some things. I wont say I stray necessarily, I kind of wonder off.
Imagine me being Diana in the Wiz. (I prefer the name Diana over Dorothy 🤷🏾♀️) I'm supposed to be following the yellow brick road but for some reason I decide to cut through the grass into the forest because I saw someone else do it. As I'm two stepping into the forest, it gets darker and darker to where I can't even see the other person who led me here. Ease on down the road is no longer a song I'm singing in my head because fear, pain and disappointment has clouded my thoughts. But thank God! I didnt get too far away. Because when I turn around, that yellow brick road is still shining, beaming, glowing as if it was made to be found at all times. So I RUN BACK.
Got the image? Imagine the yellow brick road being your connection to God. The connection that leads you to your guide, your helper, your comforter, your reassurer, your light, your everything when things are good and bad. When you see others wonder into these unknown pathways, be steadfast and keep on with your journey. It's not meant for you to experience their walk. You'll find while you're trying to keep up with the masses, you're making yourself someone you're not.
Don't compromise your relationship with God and/or yourself to keep up with everyone else.
