I don’t know when I turned into the crazy cat lady, but so be it. I started completely indifferent, and I think that’s why they’re now obsessed with me (Nash is especially obsessed). Nash is hanging out with my PNW Beanie WIP that I tested for @roseandpurl. Knitted in @malabrigoyarn
Swipe 👉 to check out this awesome walking stick I just picked up from @knottyornot Woodworks! It’s a beautiful piece of ash with comfortable hand grips and a nice double helix starting at the base. .
I was looking for something like this to use as my recovery progresses, and found Phil here on Instagram. His shop happens to be near where I’m traveling for work, so I swung by and took this one off his hands. If you’re in the market - check him out!
I’ll make good use of this once I get off this silly knee scooter thing!
My #warfighterfriday goes out to Ryan @skanwoods. A USMC vet and an incredibly talented maker. He makes some amazing cutting boards, and has a hand tool collection that will make you jealous. Head over to his page and give him a follow.
Productivity is at an all time low right now but ya know what? IT’S OK. School is out for the summer, we are outside more, and I’m embracing the fact that Instagram doesn’t own me. Sure, I would LOVE to be able to post more, I would love to be able to whip out weavings everyday like it’s no biggie, but right now that’s just not possible. I am at home all day long with 2 kids who crave ALL THE ATTENTION and they won’t be young forever. I am however lucky to have the freedom to “work” when I want. This is my hobby, not my livelihood and for that I’m thankful. Does anyone else struggle with this tension? How do people get things done with kids around??? Do you have childcare? Do you work during naps? Do you stay up until the ungodly hours of the night? I would love to know what your strategy is!! #bossmom#makershelpingmakers#crafty#weaversofinstagram#spinningweaves#woven#fiberart#thestruggleisreal#adayinthelife
Smile more, friends💛 I promise you’ll feel better with a smile on your face😬 I’m sure there’s some kind of scientific study to back up my theory, or you could just take my word for it😆🤓
This fun wooden banner is from Stephanie over at @addysonlanesigns & I just love it! Yellow is one of my new favorite colors & I’ve already found a place in my studio for this piece💛 If you check out Stephanie’s shop, you’ll find all kinds of colorful goodies that I’m sure you’ll love!🌈
P.S. felt balls are from @thestrand and fabric flowers are from @manghammade😉
Yaaay!!!! She has shared it, so now it’s safe to show you all what I was testing for @sierrascrochetcrafts 😍😍😍

Hiiii 👋🏻, it’s just me. I decided to give #makersmay a go.... however I am so bad at keeping up with these things! 🙈
Today’s prompt is “Making me”.... oh gosh, that could go so many different ways... I have been a maker as long as I can remember, I have always had a project of some kind going or I go crazy!
I started making as a business 15 years ago, when my oldest was 6 month old. I started off making primitive dolls, and paintings and things for my mother in law’s gift shop. Then I began selling my products on eBay. That was a great outlet, and became a way for me to connect with other makers through the ebay forums. It helped me feel less alone, and created friendships that are still near and dear to me now.
By the time Etsy came around I had moved on to painting and crocheting, then I added jewelry making.
Now I have discovered polymer clay, and I’m hooked!! (Get it, hooked?? 😂 That was punny 😂.... sorry)
I am so thankful for all of the amazing makers that I have met over the years! I tend to be kind of hermit like, so the connections mean so much to me 💜. If you read all of that, thank you!! 💜💜💜 Tell me something special about yourself.
Look at this AMAZING medicine bag handmade by the incredibly talented @altaredbystefanie Check her out! She is pretty much a bad ass creative babe! Thank you so much for doing this trade with me, darlin!! 🙏🙏🙏
I cannot say it enough... @farmhouseclockco makes amazing quality items! If you are not following them ..YOU SHOULD BE! Their little business is growing and evolving and I cannot WAIT to see what they have coming in their future! .
This little table is part of a set and brings me so much joy because it is the beginning of actually decorating our home. I would consider my husband and I still early on in our marriage (it will be five years in August!) and with that we still have mismatched items around the house. Our end tables have been the biggest pain because we use them quite a bit since we don’t have a coffee table (toddler + large objects = guaranteed injury 🙄). These tables are not only GORGEOUS, but they are sturdy and durable (dogs have already knocked them over and knocked water over on them 🤨). .
I am lucky enough to call them my friends, but they are amazing business people and I know their business is going to continue to thrive and be amazing! Thank you Felicia and Justin for some amazing pieces! (And I hope you’re ready to basically provide all furniture in my home 😂😂)
Big shout out to madeline dore of the wonderful @extraordinary_routines for a fun & productive morning @sideprojectsessions. And to all the fascinating participants working on all kinds of amazing projects of their own. And to grace @thesocialschool for the super useful homework i actually did today. Gotta love such practical support helping me spread the word about my passion project Why Thank You, I Made it Myself (link in bio). #melbournecreatives#creativeprojects#peerpressuredproductivity#creativebusiness#makershelpingmakers
I don't think I ever explained this board. I made the first one of these for the comedian @fredrubino. He does a live stream cooking show on facebook and YouTube. The only request when making it was that I make a donation to a veteran charity.
So for every one of the "Fred Rubino's" I sell, I will be donating a portion to the @fisherhousefdtn every month.
Hanging out at my son’s baseball practice working on my beautiful test knit for @rowsomknits. This will be a big, beautiful shawl soon.
If I could only knit with one yarn for the rest of my life, I’d choose this—Malabrigo Worsted Merino in the pagoda colorway. Purchased at @jimmybeanswool
A big welcome to another new member of the #sunraysedcollective .......the effervescent and ever-so-clever Mariah.
Mariah brings with her years of knowledge with all things PR, social, eventful and regulatory so let’s give @life__of__ri__ a big, fat, warm hug. We love having her (and her unbelievably divine macaw #penelopetheparrot ) onboard the Sunraysed gang xx
Pattern: Saturna Headband by @roseandpurl to be released soon!
Today was more winter in April. This crazy weather has wrecked havoc on my head—migraines for days and days. Anyone else struggle with migraines? What’s your go-to? For me—Imitrex, ibuprofen, and caffeine (all together) help, but sometimes nothing does the trick. 🤦🏻♀️
Oh sweet sweet Happy Mail. 💕 I had to reorder my super awesome Trex Frames stickers from the amazing Dani @bighugslittleenvelopes and this time I wanted to try out her “Good things come in Reused Packaging” stickers as well. And of course, they are perfect in every way. 💜 If you’ve ordered a frame from me, you know my packaging can be quite creative. 😂. I try to reuse anything I can, and working at a frame shop helps. The box is usually cut down from glass boxes we’d normally throw out from my work, the kraft paper also comes from the same boxes and my foam wrap is what our frames are delivered in. Sometimes you may get new bubble wrap, but that’s because I ran out of the foam. Unfortunately the tape is new, but reusing tape can be tough. Haha. So of course, these stickers are a must for every outgoing Trex Frame. ♻️ Thank you Dani! You rock. As always. 😍.
Check out this April Bonnet I tested for @scriptstitch
Yarn is @plymouthyarn Fantasy Naturalle, a 100% mercerized cotton, perfect for spring. .
Such a sweet little pattern with sizes newborn to three years old. To be released soon.
Came home today and found this waiting for me on my doorstep. It’s the Fiber Love Box from @shoplamercerie. 100% of the profits will go directly to @abundantearthfiber, an amazing mill on beautiful Whidbey Island. Back in February, they suffered a terrible loss when their trailer was broken into at Stitches West. The majority of their inventory was stolen. Countless hours of their hand crafted fiber gone in an instant. So to show their support, another talented group of fiber artists and makers got together to produce a lot of love in one little box. ❤️ There’s a charming cowl pattern by @kateoatesdesign, marvelous yarn to make it with from @spincycle_yarns and @yarnonthehouse, and a sweet smelling candle from @waxandwool. There’s a couple of other limited edition goodies in the box from @starlightknittingsociety and @katrinkles_knitting_jewelry. But you’ll have to try and snag a box, if you wanna find out what they are. 😉 #friendsofabundantearthfiber#fiberlovebox#makershelpingmakers#fiberartist#makersmovement
