Hello everyone! I’m still feeling under the weather today but I wanted to get my week three entry for #flashfictionapril18 out today. I wrote it last night with brain fog. Hopefully, it reads better then I think. Going to take it slow today and see if tomorrow will be better.
. Her hands groped across the brick, leaving her fingertips raw. They could track her with a single drop of blood, but she didn’t care. Nothing would matter if she could find it in time.
. A scream cut her heart like a knife. They were getting closer. Was she even in the right place?
. Growing up she had been told the stories over and over. Their last hope. Freedom only given when all was lost. A door to get them all out. And now the time had come. There was no more hope for her, she was marked. She couldn’t wait for the others. What if there weren’t even others?
. The air stirred. She could now hear wings beating. She pushed harder. Brick sliced skin and then gave away. Just a sliver, filled with white glowing light. Digging in, she felt the edge of the crack and tugged; once, twice, three times. Thud. She was too late. One of them had arrived.
. No, she thought. With a guttural scream she pulled feeling the brick edge slice her hands to the bone. Finally, the sliver budged and white light spilled out. The creature shied from it giving her just the second she needed to dive in.
. Not knowing what to expect on the other side, she braced for the landing. Soft ground dampened the jolt. She had made it to paradise.

For me, style, format and presentation matter immensely. It's the details of my aesthetic. With that in mind, it was incredibly important that I present this (and all my works) in a way that reflects my intent.
I tried to smash it into a digital picture like most of my other works, but for a multitude of reasons, I was in capable. I realized that it was because it didn't feel right. Font felt off and the the format kept vanishing because of the awful size of IG pictures.
So, I present you with this. Crafted for consumption. Digitally real.
I will be in New York (Downtown mostly, but Midtown for Hell's Kitchen and a few haunts). My contact information is in my bio. Hit me up.

A backbone that wouldn’t break.
Standing with a “Fuck You” you couldn’t help but hear.
She stood up for what she believed in.
No hate, no deceiving.
For she had no reason.
She just followed her dreams and
did what ever it was necessary to reach them.
Regrann from @joshmorgran - Ishya stood at her mother’s side as they held hands tight looking at the village below from the cliff they stood on. Her mother knelt before her looking at her through watery eyes and said. Ishya listen to me my beautiful child.
You were born to run free and wild. One cannot live in the desert of someone else’s mind. Your dreams await you elsewhere to find.
You must leave here tomorrow eve.
I have spoken to the moon and she has awoken her brother the wind.
Wait here tomorrow till the moon shows her face and the wind will come to carry you from this terrible place to a land where you can be everything your dreams can see. I love you but I cannot go because I am sick and old but if you close your eyes , you will always know I am standing by your side . Years later when Ishya was grown and had children of her own, she wondered if anyone would listen to her tale of how she came from there to here and believe.
Deep down though she always knew the magic was true. For when she looked out her window she saw the butterflies that glistened in the morning rays of the sun before they took off and flew.
