#Devocional440#Random#Luke10 “Ame o Senhor, seu Deus, com todo o coração, com toda a alma, com todas as forças e com toda a mente. E ame o seu próximo como você ama a você mesmo.” (Lucas 10:27)
Boa noite, pessoal 😊💚
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.” Luke 10:41-42
Martha had a guest, surely she was worried about good things - the dishes, the meal, keeping the house in order, etc. But what is the one thing Mary was focused on. Jesus. They had the Son of God in their midst! Not only does nothing compare to knowing Christ, it is as garbage.
"Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ." Philippians 3:8
How wonderful that Mary could sit at the feet of Jesus, hear him speak and have fellowship with our Lord! Yet, we have the Word of God and neglect that same precious time by filling our days with things that will never compare and truly are not as important.
Is time with your loving Father truly necessary in your life? Is it as URGENT as xyz.. what you're filling your day with..?
God's Word is there for us to find wisdom and direction in this life
The Word is a way for us to enjoy communion with our Maker
Scripture puts our troubles in perspective
The Word cannot be taken from you - JESUS
We are busy and distracted. We have fears and we blame others.
Set a realistic goal, maybe that means starting with the verse of the day notification on your phone or setting a timer for 5 undistracted minutes to read + pray. Maybe you know you need 30 min to an hour to truly dive in. Whatever it looks like for you, God will bless it. He has never left your side sister, He longs with open arms to spend time with you, love you, reveal himself to you and mold you more into His image until you meet him face to face. Today is the day to return to Him 💓
Sunday reflection: I believe most people are good.🎵 -Luke Bryan 🤠
One more month until seeing this beauty perform live again! Ayeeee 🤗
When practiced over time, good values become habitual. By telling the truth, people become truthful; by giving to the poor, people become benevolent; by being fair to others, people become just. Our virtues are derived from our actions, and our actions manifest our virtues.

How many of you need to insert your own name here??!!! “Lindsay, Lindsay, you are so worried and bothered about so many things; but only a few things are necessary, REALLY only ONE!!!” Why are we worried and bothered about so many things on this earth when we have such a loving, kind and considerate Creator??!!! He is in charge, not us!!!! Be encouraged today and insert your name and repeat ALL day everyday!!! 😉👍🏻🙏🏼 Have a great day everyone!!! #Luke10#theOnlyThing#TheWord#marthaandmary#sitatHisfeet
We loved spending time in worship and God’s word with you this morning as we dived into Pt 2 of the Overcomer series. You can check out today’s sermon and Pt 1 of the Overcomer series through link in bio. #luke10#thegoodsamaritan#ffcwilmington
The disciples were super stoked (as most all of us would be) about the authority they had... and what THEY could do with it, but Jesus, wisely and gently, turned their thoughts heavenly and reminded them of God’s redeeming grace.
“And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, “Lord, even the devils are subject unto [us] through Your name” (Luke 10:17).
The conditions for pride (and it’s unpredictable consequences) will always be present, as we sojourn with Jesus, in this body of flesh. Pride always refocuses our attention and our priorities. We go from being in awe of God and His relentless grace to being enamored with self and anything that elevates our abilities and status... at the expense of giving all the glory to Jesus.
A misapplied focus will only lead to a misappropriated faith.
A misappropriation of faith will inevitably mislead those following our faith and focus to REJOICE, with us, over what WE’VE done or can do, rather than cheerfully celebrating what ONLY God can do and will do. When we lose sight of WHO the authority is for, we’ll lose sight of WHERE the authority is from and why we’re on assignment for Him.
I love how Jesus patiently shifted their focus... it blesses me, and I can see how He’s still using it to refocus my faith, prioritizing my joy and keeping me on mission for Him.
Been a while since I posted one of these. Too long, but Grant’s message at #passioncitychurch today got me in the #splagchnizomai . He had some many good points on loving people. One point that really stuck out to me is he said that one of he reasons people have such a hard time believing in a God whose love they don’t have to earn is because they have to work so hard to earn our(the Christians) love. Just let that sink in. #biblejournaling#coloringinmybible#luke10#goodsamaritan
There was blue sky. In real life and all. I can completely understand why people painted pictures of heaven in the sky with light shining gently though the clouds. We all need a vision to aim towards.
He said therefore, "What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it?
It is like a grain of mustard seed that a man took and sowed in his garden, and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air made nests in its branches." Luke 13:18-19
It’s all a bit vague really. Peace and reconciliations and God being all in all, but what does that actually look like? I could give you a vision of learning and healing, of work and of walking with Jesus. But that’s limited by my own life experience. When I see Jesus through the actions of people around me, that’s how I imagine the Kingdom of God to be. If I see a little kindness now- a food bank- I see all people being fed in the kingdom. If I see people changing the way they shop and use plastic- I see the whole world being cared for in the Kingdom.
What happens with that vision? I could just keep it still, a painted picture to comfort me. A vision needs to do more than that. There’s a fascinating little comment just before on Luke, when Jesus is sending his disciples to preach and heal.
Heal the sick in it and say to them, 'The kingdom of God has come near to you.' Luke 10:9
What does he mean by that? Perhaps the sick had a taste of the Kingdom? Healing and forgiveness. That the peace and rest they experience in healing is part of what they might experience in the Kingdom. The vision we are given of the Kingdom, is shown through the work of Jesus and his disciples. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Can this be applied to our lives? I don’t feel gifted like an apostle. Yet not everything is so obvious as a miracle. A visit for someone who is lonely. Caring for a friend (or grumpy relative!) Talking to each other about Jesus. Letting the children learn. Letting the women sit close and participate. Serving each other. I see little snapshots of the Kingdom in the people around me. I hope that my vision, flawed as it may be, will keep reminding me and inspiring me too do the same.
Michael is my oldest and we have known there is a calling on Michael since he was a young boy. He has a gift of understanding with scripture and a deepness in his relationship with Him. I love watching his journey with Jesus a long thw way.
Loving Jesus is personal to him. He feels closest to Jesus when he takes the time to have a conversation with Him. Jesus is his friend.
Just after I cut this video, I reiterated that reading scrupture and doing the devotionals makes him feel the closest to Jesus, he corrected me.
Its the time, the converation, the quiet with just him and the Lord. Michael worships at His feet. This flooded my heart.
3/100: This entry was inspired by @confidentcanvas for the #revealtheteal month. Although I am not a survivor of sexual assault, I have been walking women through the pain of sexual attacks since my college days. There are too many friends to count. One common thread is that a victim of assault is never alone, no matter how she may feel. She can stand strong in who God says she is (not what the enemy whispers). Difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. He will redeem your story. Keep sharing it! Feel free to mention what got you through healing in the comments below.
“Light is shed in the darkness and the darkness cannot overcome it.” (John 1:1-5). I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to OVERCOME all power of the enemy; no thing will harm you.” (Luke 10:19)
I am strong
I am unstoppable
I am courageous
I am fearless
I am blessed
I am surrounded by love
1/6 women will be assaulted before the age of 34
Every 98 seconds, a sexual assault takes place

As Jesus and his disciples continued on their way to jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a women named Martha welcomed them into her home. Her sister Mary sat at the Lords feet, listening to what he taught. But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said 'Lord doesnt it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while i do all the work? Tell her to come and help me".
But The Lord said to her 'my dear Martha you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it and it will not be taken away from her. (Luke10:42)
Ive been enjoying the Easter break from school and work, spending time with the family and thanking God for all we have been blessed with, allowing us this time together during the Easter season. However holiday times also come with their own challenges, so amidst all the day to day planning activities, preparing food, keeping on top of the house etc etc and feeling like a "Martha", i pray to the Lord to give me the strength and energy to handle this busy time and get the most out of it, time spent journalling helps me to find the closeness with God that Mary had in Martha's busy world.

“60 And Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead. But as for you, go and proclaim the kingdom of God.”” .
Luke 10: 1-12
“10 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. 2 And he said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. 3 Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. 4 Carry no moneybag, no knapsack, no sandals, and greet no one on the road. 5 Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house!’ 6 And if a son of peace is there, your peace will rest upon him. But if not, it will return to you. 7 And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house. 8 Whenever you enter a town and they receive you, eat what is set before you. 9 Heal the sick in it and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ 10 But whenever you enter a town and they do not receive you, go into its streets and say, 11 ‘Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet we wipe off against you. Nevertheless know this, that the kingdom of God has come near.’ 12 I tell you, it will be more bearable on that day for Sodom than for that town.”
#Halleluja ! 🙌
Danke Jesus! 🙏
So today are we sending the students out on what we call luke 10 for three days, wjere they will be total depending on Holy Spirit. So exciting! We will what God, He will do!
Wow... thx JESUS!!
