Today was a gym day. My legs hurt before I even finished my first set of squats 😒 Lame. I also did 7 whole minutes of cardio. Go me 😏

Last day of #lowweighthighreps week was shoulders/triceps with some cardio. Couldn't record in the gym because it was beyond crowded. It was definitely a tough one. I've been doing only 60 seconds of rest in between sets which this week which has definitely gotten my heart rate up and kept me out of breath the entire workout. 
Single-arm Arnold Press: 4x15 or failure on each arm at 30 and 25 lbs for the last set
Rowing: 500m in 1:57
Side/Front/Bent over Dumbbell raises: 4x30 at 15 lbs (4x10 on each variation all together)
Rowing: 500m in 1:55
Dumbbell Shrugs: 4x20 at 70 lbs
Rowing: 500m in 1:50
Dumbbell Skullcrushers: 4x15 or failure at 20 lbs

I had her perform this exercise two different ways, one with partial tension, and the other with constant tension. After a few corrections on form, she definitely felt her Glutes working 99% of the time until they were fatigued. Proper alignment with your foot, knee, hip, and core engagement are key for the focus of this exercise. -

Having a neutral spine is good for most exercises but if you want your MAX Glute flexion, the lumbar spine should be extended with your core relaxed to ensure a full Glute squeeze. Make sure the pulley is at a proper height to achieve max tension with the line of pull matched with the fully flexed position of the Glutes. Also make sure that you have the cable attachment around the back of the knee so that the hamstrings do not engage in the movement. -

Hey, even trainers need trainers too. @perfectfit_alee is a personal trainer, IFBB pro, and an inspiration to all of her followers and clients. She told me she couldnt get her Glutes to grow so I had her muscle through one of my "Glute max focused" routines to improve her size and definition. We talked through detailed information to improve her form so her “overactive” quads would let the Glutes do their job. I’ll post the other two exercises soon.... -

First exercise is focused on hip extension out of a fully stretched Glute position. This is the best way to break the stretch in a loaded line of push resulting in all muscle fibers working. Pushing any muscle out of a fully stretched and loaded position is very difficult so light weight and full concentration is a must. Notice that the range of motion is only breaking out of the stretch and the hips stay parallel to the ground with a yoga block to help stretch the Glutes further in the hip flexion to extension path. -

Sååå happy🤗 for å ha klart å fullføre rygg/armer idag til tross for at jeg ble (mildt sagt) mørbanket på massasjebenken igår. Og jeg er faktisk litt fornøyd med resultatet hit til, til tross for fisevekter pga altfor stram muskulatur rundt skulder- og bicep partiet. Jeg påførte meg en skade i muskulaturen der tidligere i år og er fremdeles ikke helt på topp. Men med lav vekt, 15-20 reps og 4 sett per øvelse så har jeg hatt en bra framgang (ikke så mye som jeg hadde håpt på, men til tross for utgangspunktet så må jeg si meg fornøyd) og ja, jeg liker bedre å kjøre tyngre og færre reps (sikkert like godt som du) men det har ikke vært mulig med den helsikkens skulderen så istedetfor å gi opp så har jeg måttet trene meg opp sakte men sikkert på denne måten. Ikke alltid like motiverende å kjøre lett men er bedre enn ingenting☝️Istedetfor å tenke på hvordan det kunne blitt tenker jeg heller på hva jeg har fått til!! Rett innstilling, rett fokus og ikke minst de rette delmålene er det som gir resultater, gjør treningen overkommelig og skaper mer motivasjon på veien videre. Håper jeg blir bedre i skulderen til høsten slik at jeg kan kjøre tyngre igjen🙏 Hvis ikke finner jeg nok ut av det😉

Was definitely mentally prepared to workout out my #legs/#lowerbody yesterday.... but pregnancy. (Aka my low sitting child is causing pinching in my SI) thankfully I am flexible in my workouts and have backup plans. Did a #dumbbell #shoulderburnout instead! Because I could do most of the movements sitting or standing still - and not aggravate my back more! AND IF YOU THINK YOU NEED TO LIFT HEAVY OR USE HEAVY WEIGHTS WITH ALL YOUR WORKOUTS you’re wrong. This shoulder burn had me dying by the 5th time through with TEN POUND DUMBBELLS ya’ll.
