2018/4/23-下背最終還是掛彩了
自從去年下背受傷後,就再也沒辦法拼重。歷經半年的休息,不碰硬舉,深蹲也只蹲輕睦鄰,就在去年八月開始重拾槓鈴,慢慢恢復到原本的狀態。
我自認姿勢標準,也拍過影片檢視,一直覺得沒什麼問題,前天硬舉也非常的順暢,當下下背也毫無疼痛感。但在昨天深蹲時,只蹲到100我的左下背突然超痛,我心想:幹,又來。於是我就躺到伸展區躺了15分鐘。勉勉強強完成剩下的內容。
原以為睡一晚就好,結果並沒有,看來我真的該好好正視這個問題了,拜託命運別捉弄我🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

The findings of your special tests and imaging often mean little to me as a physical therapists. What does matter? Your attitudes/ beliefs towards your injury or limitation, what movements cause you pain, what patterns are present with your symptoms, range of motion, strength and quality of movement. Can I get your pain to change or not? What functional limitations does someone have? •

Also, As much as at times you want someone to have a straight forward mechanical issue if you ignore the factors going on as far as beliefs/fear avoidance etc you won’t help someone much. Less stock needs to be put into specific pathoanatomical tests and more into other factors I mentioned. As much as we understand about the human body and physiology we actually don’t know at least 2x as much. Pathoanatomical practice needs to go the way of the dodo bird because the majority of time the tissue is not the issue #strengthinevidence

These rounded shoulders can make your neck hurt, and put excessive pressure on your mid to lower back.

Plus, this posture puts more internal pressure on your pelvic floor. If you have pelvic floor prolapse, fixing your posture can improve your condition.

Stand with your butt against a wall. Your shoulders should touch the wall behind you. If they don't, then there's a good chance you have some kyphosis. Also notice the position of your hands. If your hands face backwards, your shoulders are also rounded.
.
Turn your palms to the front and draw your shoulders back and down.
.
Pay attention to how you sit throughout the day. If you have a long commute, what is your driving posture?
.

LOWER BACK PAIN? 💥 
DO THIS!

In short, your QL (Quadratus Lumborum) is a Muscle in the lower back running from your pelvis to the ribcage on either side of the spine. 💀
.
The cause of pain in this area is likely due to the muscle being over active 🤡 This happens from tight hip flexors (especially the PSOAS muscle) making the QL active, OR from a lordodic posture (duck butt stance) 🦆 So remember that when stretching the QL, you’re not fixing the SOURCE of the problem, only the SYMPTOM, so it will continue to get tight if you don’t
A) Fix your posture
B) Open your hip flexors consistently
.
To stretch it and relieve pain, you need to lock the hips, or the hips will stretch instead (not the lower back). You can do one of the two following stretches:

1️⃣ Sit cross legged, then twist and pull down toward one knee to feel the opposite QL stretch. Or progress from here if you don’t feel it, and put your feet together with your knees outward, and then twist and hug 🤗 your knee.
2️⃣ Stand face forward. Twist your feet about 70-80 degrees one way with your hips locked in a face forward position. Lean over sideways on a slight angle with your opposite arm in the air 🙋🏻‍♂️ The side opposite to where you’re leaning should be the stretching QL.

Last Saturday night, I started to feel an usual pain at my lower left back. There has been nothing unusual with my urination, though knowing that it can be a sign of an internal problem as the kidney and since my period is also coming soon, I observed until Sunday if the pain level will change. Unfortunately it did not so I decided to use Angels Secret Pantyliners at bedtime.

I was right to use it for relief and it did not disappoint me. Reduced pain was felt on my 2nd night and now it's my 4th night of use, I feel that my condition is going back to normal though I plan to continue until 7 days or until my period comes.

This technique uses "Post-Isometric-Relaxation" (PIR), which is a technique based on whats called "autogenic inhibition". Fancy term for a reflex process that triggers a muscle to relax.-

In the video above, I'm showing this as a manual-based technique, but the same principle can be applied to a "pigeon" type stretch.-

👉 Here's how to use this technique:
-
✅ Bring the knee up toward the hip until its at approx. 90 degree angle. -
✅ While keeping the knee bent at 90 degrees as well, externally rotate (turn thigh out) the leg until a stretch is felt in the gluteal region.
✅ Hold this stretch for 10 seconds.
✅ Gently press your knee and/or ankle into the therapist's (or floor if doing pigeon!) hand with a 10-15% effort for 10 seconds. -
✅ Take a nice deep nasal breath, then as you exhale, relax fully and move into the stretch position a bit further. Repeat the sequence 2-3 more times or until you don't get any additional range of motion improvement. -

Yesterday I had the steroid injection into my heel to hopefully relieve the pain from the Plantar Fasciitis. I thought it was going to be extremely painful and was very nervous. It was painful but not unbearable thank goodness! I was so relieved 😅 My foot and ankle are so swollen this morning and over the last few days my toes and the ball of my foot are painful too. My GP told me it takes 3-4 days to see any results. As promised, here is a little demonstration on how to find your transverse abdominis muscle during pregnancy. I do 3 lots of 10 contractions before i workout just to make sure that my deep core is activated and ready to support me through my exercises. I also do this whenever I remember throughout my day to keep this muscle strong and connect my core to my pelvic floor. 
Start by breathing in and filling up your belly, then contract your pelvic floor and zip up the zipper all the way to your ribs as you exhale. Another way to visualise this is imagine your abdomen is hugging the baby in your belly as you exhale.
Strengthening your transverse abdominis muscle not only lowers your risk of diastasis recti, but also protects against lower back pain as well as strengthens the pelvic floor. This exercise is even beneficial for all the mummas who have already had their bubba for the same reasons. I hope this video was helpful!! 😊

PS: on the photo above is the x-ray result of my spine back in 2009. The scoliosis was 35 degree curvature on my lower back, and apparently it was also rotated.

It made sense as my upper body has as tendency to face more to the left, and couldn't face straight ahead 😂.
