🤙🏼Do you think you can take it down?
Made with @beyondmeat patties 🤗👌 so #mannge 😋
Here's the recipe for all of you that voted in my stories. 💓💓 Loco moco 🌴🥥🌺 I've made this before but I think I've perfected the yolk this time...😃 you tell me... Recipe:
For the gravy:
1/2 can coconut milk
1 3/4 C water
4 tsp vegetable bouillon
3 tbs vegan butter (or any oil, I actually used the oil from when I fried the beyond burger 😋)
3 tbs flour
2 tsp vegan Worcestershire sauce
1/2 C soy sauce *
Black pepper to taste
You can add Chopped/sauteed mushrooms and/or onions, if that's what you like 😊
On medium low heat, melt your butter. Then slowly add your flour, stirring until combined. Continue to stir and slowly Add your water. Add your bouillon, soy sauce, coconut milk, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until combined. Set to medium high heat, continue to stir, and let sauce simmer for about 15-20 min until thickened.
For the white part of the egg:
A block of extra firm tofu (I didn't press mine, but you can if you want😆). 3 tbs oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Slice tofu about 1/4 of an inch.
You can use a cookie cutter to make the tofu round but it's not necessary.
Add oil to you pan and bring to medium high heat. Add your tofu, salt, and pepper. Fry your tofu for about 3 minutes (or until browned) on each side.
For the yolk:
The other half of canned coconut milk
4 tbs butter (or any oil. I used the oil from after I fried the tofu).
1/4 tsp black salt
1/4 C nutritional yeast
1/8 C flour
1/4 tsp turmeric
On medium low heat, melt your butter. While stirring, Add black salt, nutritional yeast, flour, and turmeric. Mix until combined. Slowly add in your coconut milk. While stirring, bring mixture to a simmer until thickened.
Day 14: Ho’olaule’a! I made my own poke to bring and I also ate a few other yummies. My orders today- “Can I get a loco moco with no rice and no gravy?” “Is there a way I can get just two laulaus?” What a struggle it was to turn down eat all the tempting food... rice, teri chicken, malasadas, li hing gummy bears. Then of course every Ho’olaule’a has an after party. The amount of shots I had to turn down made me thankful I was on whole30 because I would of been dying of alcohol poisoning rn. All in all, it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be to say “no thanks” to everything today.
