Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! - Rocky Balboa
👏🏼LEAVE YOUR EGO AT THE DOOR👏🏼
Just because you “CAN” squat (press, lift, curl…) the weight, does not mean that you SHOULD!👀
Although progressive overload (gradually increasing the weight over time) translates to muscle growth, there are obviously limitations when it comes to the weight you are lifting
👉🏼Heavier does not mean better👈🏼 _
I had someone film the one on the left because “wow, look at me! I have 155 over my back!”
☝🏽range of motion is not there (not going low enough)
☝🏽my set-up is shaky (unsafe)
☝🏽I have too much damn weight over my shoulders (ALEXA, WTF!!!)(🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️🤦🏽♀️#liveandlearn )
Putting these clips next to each other is like night and day😅
On the left: full squats (155lbs)
On the right: constant tension squats (65lbs), in these I do not come up all the way to keep tension on the glutes.
Once I LOWERED the weight, GOT OVER my ego, executed the exercise with PROPER form, and ENGAGED the proper muscles is when I actually started to see glute growth🙏🏽
I highly recommend you record yourself/have someone record your exercises! It is important to keep tab on your form so you can may make adjustments to your form as needed👍🏽

When Codey, Charlie and I started down this scary and uncertain road on Friday afternoon ... never did we imagine we would end up where we are today. Loved. By so many. Supported. By more friends, family & strangers than we even knew existed in our world. We never knew just how many of you we needed to be able to brave the storm ... endure the challenges ... and overcome each obstacle that had been set before our tiny warrior princess. She is something to behold when she knows her family is standing behind her. Watch out! This force is growing stronger, her courage is off the charts, and the fight with in is undeniable. I'm sure you are waiting for an update so here is what we know so far: plastics work looks good ... trauma came by last night to investigate an opacity on her lung tissue that was found on the CT scan (PSA for parents - push for your kids. I didnt in the ER and I am praying every second that we didnt miss something) ... breathing is great ... we are still on significant pain meds (coming off those is what I am silently freaking out about) ... waiting for full team to come by later today to give report. Goal: TO GO HOME TODAY! Any updates will be shared as soon as we know something solid. WE CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH. Each of you have our gratitude and have left an everlasting mark on our hearts. Remember, what you put out is what you get back in. Be good. Do good. Love your family no matter what. In an instant, with one single action, one single decision ... your road could lead off the edge of a cliff and your safety net ... your family ... will simply vanish.
There’s beauty in the colors— beauty it the bright spots in life and beauty in the darkest of moments. Without the differences, how could we possibly grow or appreciate the moments that make us smile?Every moment in life is intentional, meaningful, and worth learning from. Don’t just embrace it, love it. .
Side note— how gorgeous are these succulents? What’s something that brings you joy?
Every day, moment, event, or experience will not always go as you plan.
The planning itself is questionable.
Yes, you can do everything in your power to set things up before, make them look nice, create schedules and have a master plan - but you have no way of knowing what is going to happen when the time comes.
So it is best to plan with this in mind.
We think we have all of the control, but we really don't.
So what do we do?
Just accept what is and make it the best experience you can.
Like for example, my day so far today has been way less then ideal.
I woke up in the middle of the night in pain and feeling really sick.. and I feel pretty much exactly the same right now. Possibly worse.
I had plans for today, I have a commitment for later this afternoon, I had no intentions of waking up sick and spending my day like this.
But it is what it is.
I can't change the circumstances.
But I do have control over my reaction to this less then ideal situation.
So for now, I am focusing on taking care of my body.
I am staying connected to my gratitude.
I am trusting that everything will be okay.
Because in the end, I am still here living, and that is the greatest gift of all.
I do not take it for granted, even on the bad days.
Although many do not believe it, your attitude has an enormous impact on your overall health.
If you perceive yourself to be in poor health or constantly tired, you begin to believe that and even attract that sense of ‘health’ upon yourself.
Now, I am not suggesting that all health is in our heads, however, I know that whatever we think about, we attract to ourselves.
Don’t believe me?
Let me challenge you to give it a try.
Let’s say that you feel chronically tired. As long as you do not have a diagnosis of something more serious, consider every morning, writing down all the things in your life and your body that you feel good about.
Okay, okay, maybe the things that you feel ‘ok’ about.
Take time to be grateful for what you DO have versus what you do not.
From my personal experience, this simple process will change more than just your attitude. It will change your overall health trajectory.
Think about that. #KevinBreeding#MindsetEngine#ThinkDifferently#Productivity#LifePurpose#EntrepreneurMindset#Tuesdaythoughts
