What is a bookshelf other than a treasure box for a curious mind? 🔹Aww... ok, my bookshelf could use some organization! Do you ever have a hard time sitting still? Me, always. 🔹I have a passion for learning & books. I buy more books than I read. If only We truly could learn by osmosis! 🔹Excited to pick a book to read this next week as we head off the grid.
#Throwback to when @lsu invited us to participate in a seminar from the great Dr. Ed Gilman, #ProfessorEmeritus from the @universityoffloridagator // Dr. Gilman is one of the world’s leading researchers on both canopy and root pruning techniques as well as general tree health within the #UrbanCanopy // It was a privilege to be invited to such an educational event, and we quickly started implementing these practices into our own organization #LifeLongLearning
I believe I start to see a path.
I ended up staying up all night, too excited and nervous to interrupt the flow of thoughts streaming in my mind.
as an atheist, I believe that life is a chance occurence, a fantastic random step in the realm of a quantum physic universe, that could or could not have happened and as such, bears no meaning nor purpose.
as a philosopher and humanist, I strongly believe that art, ethic and empathy are keys to this struggling existence.
we set our goals and act in our life as our actions may carry relevant consequences, the risk is what Sartre defined as 'mauvaise foi', - bad faith- the erroneous, deceptive attitude to this existence.
the past months since my comeback in London have been an excruciating and exciting time of my life, where i've probably changed more places and jobs than i've ever had in my entire life in the UK.
But I can't stress enough how much I feel and fear the pressure of time, a big shadow I discovered very early in life and that never left my side, and though i've never doubted my dreams, I've also never really known how to act properly on them.
a lack of tolerance for anything that is not meaningful combined with a little inclination toward work, and dull moments in general, forced me to roam around for a while now.
but I believe I begin to see a path now, how all the dots connect, and though I don't believe in faith or destiny or anything like that - I've long caressed the idea that thoughts produce actions and create our reality, as they're both part of the same matter.
I see more clearly what this list of infinite different jobs and places and people taught me, the way they shaped who I am - now, and where they've led me.
most importantly, where I need to be going.
and that was only for a night of no sleep.
think of what I could do in a just a week of high-caffeinated, insomniac, days! .
As • FINAL • EXAMS • come up faster than I can run, we need to remember and remind our students that they are MORE than their TEST SCORE! This doesn’t mean they shouldn’t try their hardest on their final exams, but don’t let them think that this is the be all and end all. There are so many students who stress out because they don’t test well, and they need to know that their entire life will not be defined by their scores. 💕

OBR aboard the USS Constellation! Built in 1854, we had the opportunity to tour the ship and get a history lesson along the way. Not only that, we got a hands-on lesson on what it takes to set sail! ⚓️
Whether it’s intentional or not, it’s being written. I desire to be known for what I gave, not what I accumulated. Will this world lose all of you when you are no longer alive? Let’s be intentional about creating our own narrative.
#throwbackthursday - “Tell the Black Student Union, ‘thank you,’ for this free event. It was a good reminder on how fun can be simple for everyone. And, hopefully, it showed people that Black kids talking against racism and hugging toys for charity doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive.” [teacher this morning]
No morning trendy shakes from a bag for me, just pure plants. 😋😁🌱🍋
Fresh Tumeric, ginger, and lemon. Sometimes i put a little stevia or agave syrup.
I buy fresh tumeric (it's hard to find here) then chop it up into small pieces and freeze it for long term use. Put all ingredients in a small blender cup with 1/4C water. Then pour in boiling water to make it into my morning power tea. ♡
Who else thinks of robots 🤖 when they’re holding a wine cork 🍷 in their hand?
We had our Inventor Club students construct an obstacle course out of recycled materials and then build a JitterBot using a vibrating motor and a cork. Here’s the results!
Nakasendo Trail Day 4: Narai to Kiso-Hirasawa to Matsumoto to Kairuzawa. 2.5 km. An easy walk which took one plus hour by foot to another sleepy post town of Kiso Hirasawa, famous for its lacquer ware. Met a 76 yrs old elderly lady on the train to Matsumoto who learned English for 20 years and practise the language by initiating English conversations with foreigners. Really an inspiration to active learning! Arrived in Matsumoto in time for cherry blossom viewing at Matsumoto castle. #nakasendotrail17#lifelonglearning#lessontoself
