The Rainbow Mountains are located in the Zhangye National Geopark in Gansu province, China.
They are known for mimicking a rainbow painted over the tops of rolling mountains.
The sand and silt were deposited with iron and trace minerals before the Himalayan Mountains were formed and that provided it with the key ingredient to form the colors we see today.
A great place to visit and read a book in a relaxing landscape, since today it’s International Book Day! Enjoy your lecture 🤓
