Our furniture is starting to arrive and our rental house is slowly beginning to feel more like our home! Concrete floors are clutch in TX, but we needed to soften them up bit- especially since a certain someone likes to jump off the couch! In our old apartment I went through a wool rug and then a cotton rug. Aka NOT baby/toddler proof! Oh the stains! This time I’ve ordered only poly rugs for easy clean up. This one is soooo soft and way more beautiful than I could have ever imagined. Slow clap for @rugs_usa 👏🏻 ! And it looks like someone has found his new cozy spot. 😍 (not an ad for @rugs_usa, but I’m def impressed)

Feeling a little sad today as Fridays were our regular playgroup day in Brooklyn. We are definitely missing our crew - you know who you are! 😔 Leaving our Brooklyn parent/baby community was the hardest part about moving. But we are feeling encouraged about making new friends and building community here in Austin. We are discovering that everyone is “new” here and is looking for new connections. But it’s made easier by the fact that everyone is so freakin friendly! By the time you leave the playground, you’re on a first name basis with all the parents and kids. It’s so refreshing!!! I also love that Wilder’s meeting kids of all ages and if this video isn’t proof enough, he’s in heaven! Finley + Wilder = 💗(@callieadinolfo ) .

We are loving springtime in Austin! I’m beyond grateful that it’s mid-March and we no longer have to bundle up to go outside. 🙏🏻 It’s such a game changer with a toddler! You know what else is a game changer? Not having to haul my kid + bags up and down 4 flights of stairs. This is the stuff dreams are made of people: loading the car with groceries or whatever, pulling up into my driveway and just unloading directly into my kitchen. I realize that most Americans take this experience for granted. But whatever, I’m new here! I can honestly say that I don’t feel the same level of exhaustion that I did just a few weeks ago. If you’re a parent in NYC living in a walk-up, then you feel me. If you live in a garden apartment or have an elevator... well then this PSA isn’t for you. 😝
