I’m not even sure how it happened, as I’ve been busy wrangling and handling 3 restless and sick toddlers today, but somehow this little guy appeared to summarize my general feeling and state of life these days! ♣️🐇⏱♠️ PS If you like things Alice, check out @flintkat who’s currently working on an absolutely kick-a** Alice in Wonderland linocut ♥️
Charlie 'Bird' Parker in Wonderland
2006, pencils, watercolors, gouache on paper.
For my elective art course during my final high school year, we were given the assignment to create 5 pieces within a certain theme. I chose jazz.
I look back fondly on this time; I was reading, drawing, sewing, rummaging through thrift stores, discovering my musical tastes, and developed friendships that last to this day (oh, and studying for exams). Art class was my favorite part of the week: a late afternoon of creativity and chit-chat in the coziest environment with the dearest, most encouraging art teacher. It was also the time that I got more and more into jazz; at 16, I finally felt I could take on my dad's music :'). This piece incorporates all (well, except food) My Favorite Things (see what I did there): jazz, watercolors, and fairy tales❤
•¡HOLA DREAMERS! 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
• HI DREAMERS! How are you? I have received recently "Alice in wonderland" and I look forward to reading it. This is a beautiful illustrated edition. Have you read it? The candle is from @bookandglow and it’s so sweeeeet.😍 #aliceinwonderland#aliciaenelpaiselasmaravillas#lewiscarroll#ilustraciones#books#bookstagram#bookstagramespaña#book#bookphoto#photography#bookoftheday#booklover#bookandglow#alice#librosilustrados

Podes dizer-me, por favor, que caminho devo seguir para sair daqui?
Isso depende muito de para onde queres ir - respondeu o gato.
Preocupa-me pouco aonde ir - disse Alice.
Nesse caso, pouco importa o caminho que sigas - replicou o gato.
“Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.”
“I don’t much care where -“
“Then it doesn’t matter which way you go.”
Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to."
"I don't much care where –"
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go.
But I don’t want to go among mad people," Alice remarked.
"Oh, you can’t help that," said the Cat: "we’re all mad here. I’m mad. You’re mad."
"How do you know I’m mad?" said Alice.
"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn’t have come here.
I wonder if I've been changed in the night. Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is 'Who in the world am I?' Ah, that's the great puzzle!
