I think we’ll keep doing this camping thing. I live seeing my kids explore nature. Though we need to find a more comfortable way to sleep, so I can actually sleep. 😅 The ground just isn’t my bed at home.
STOP wasting Today! Do u often let your dreams of tomorrow hold you back from enjoying where your at right now? STOP IT! Stop thinking that if I only had this or that my life would be better. I hope your having an amazing Sunday! I'm doing some pre prep for DH & I's dinner tonight! We're going to relax with dinner & a movie tonight getting some much needed alone time together. What are you up to?
Y'all know this pregnancy was rough for me. Physically, emotionally and mentally. I was sick and tired and apathetic and ornery and unmotivated. But as soon as Jonah was born it was like a switch flipped. I'm happy, I'm motivated, I feel great. I've done more around the house this week than I did in the last 9 months.·
I'm not naive enough to think that my emotions won't/can't crash down at any minute, or that having 3 kids isn't going to be difficult, but for now, I'm enjoying feeling like ME again.
Does anyone’s child actually sleep through the night? Because, y’all, four babies into this whole mom thing, I’m just not buying it. 😂 The girls sometimes give us a stretch of about three uninterrupted hours through the night, but this week, they’ve each taken turns waking up every. single. hour. 🙀 What am I missing here? What magic remedies work for you??
Also, a few weeks ago, I posted about switching Lela to a twin bed from her crib, and I got such a huge response that @deltachildren is now wanting to offer all of my followers 15 percent off their site using code CBCHATMAN ❤️We use the Monterey Farmhouse Twin Bed for her room, and I’ll be posting some of my other favorite Delta products in my stories later on (they have WAY more than just furniture) 🙌🏼
Have you been waiting to get your hands on these?...

The ability of the ear to hear and the brain’s ability to process and understand what is heard are two very different things. A child can have perfect hearing and pass all hearing tests and still have an Auditory Processing Disorder. Under APD are several categories:
Auditory discrimination: The ability to notice, compare and distinguish between distinct and separate sounds. The words growing and groin may sound alike, for instance.
Auditory figure-ground discrimination: The ability to focus on the important sounds in a noisy setting. Often these kids are very distracted by noise in their environment. Footsteps in the hallway which can typically be ignored may become very distracting or the humming of the lights in the classroom is too much to block out. It is similar to being at a party and not being able to hear the person next to you because there’s so much background chatter.
Auditory memory: The ability to recall what you’ve heard, either immediately or when you need it later.
Auditory sequencing: The ability to understand and recall the order of sounds and words. A child might say or write “ephelant” instead of “elephant,” or hear the number 357 but write 735.
As you might imagine, having difficulty in any one of these areas, much less several of these areas can make learning difficult. Directions in class can often be missed or misunderstood. A child’s actions may also be misconstrued as a poor listener which can be viewed by adults as defiant or that they are not listening intentionally even though it is his or her neurological system which is hindering their ability to process the auditory information they are hearing. This can impact social relationships and even a child’s self-esteem and opinion of school.
If you notice any of these symptoms in your child, a discussion with your pediatrician regarding your concerns is valid and important so they can rule out possible hearing loss. Occupational Therapists can also evaluate how an individual is processing auditory input and tailor therapy to address specific needs as well as accommodations and modifications which may help mitigate the impact of the APD.
“Mama, I’ll still be your baby even when I’m five. Even when I’m a grown-up!” - Layla, on addressing my daily complaints about her growing too fast & how time will just not slow down! Thank goodness she takes pity on me and showers me with hugs & kisses. 💗 #laylairie
today was the day we learned just how serious the monkey situation was around here. drew and i hosted the families that have already arrived only to be surprised that the monkeys also received an invitation 🙈🐒 the kids were incredibly entertained. of course raylan was the first to feed the monkeys (big mistake), resulting in a little aggression and a stand off. the ladies and children retreated indoors while the men took to the patio to enjoy their tea 😂 (check out my IG story for a video of the monkeys!) three countries were represented at our little gathering today (usa, england, and korea)... we had kimchi pancakes, english flapjack, and of course i made home made chocolate chip cookies. baking at 6,000ft above sea level in a tiny oven was challenging, but not quite as challenging as modifying my recipe with indian ingredients! i can’t wait to fill our home with more families from countries all over the world ❤️🇺🇸🇮🇳🇰🇷🏴#gathering#india#armylife
FUN FAIR 🎡
Stanley experienced his first little funfair today! As soon as we got nearby he was loving all the music and colours! His first go on the teacups too and he was trying to spin I round faster, he’s got no fear whatsoever 😂
Nice little treat after being baby free last night and for the morning! 💙
