SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT ... make sure grass, leaves and other debris stay away from your hot engines and mufflers. This fire happened just down the road from me. The owner mowed the yard as they had been doing for years and parked the mower in the garage within minutes leaves ignited from the hot engine and this is the result ... total loss. Check them out before loading on the trailer. Mower is behind the trash can in the garage with the hood up in the picture.
Out on a property today and my son ran into to this while moving a tree branch out of the way ... about 3 feet in length, this snake is primarily found in Florida. Always be aware of your surroundings. Do you know what type snake this is?
A couple years ago I noticed the grass line where the kids stood & played in front my house while waiting for the bus was fading away. I decided to fix it so the kids had a nice place to stand while they waited for the bus instead of just gravel. I timed it perfectly with the weather so it would rain on the grass seed and they wouldn’t be bothered too long with having to stay off the grass. They never really jumped around when it was raining anyway. But, during those few days while the grass seed was soaking. One child decided I had done this as a personal vendetta against him. I watched as he would kick rocks into the grass line stomp on it and twist the sole of his shoe making more bare spots. I had spent almost $300 trying to make sure their bus stop area remained nice for them and one kid ruined it all. I gave up! But, it doesn’t matter I guess. I think the bus stop moved, there hasn’t been any kids standing in front of my house. Which has been nice considering I felt like I wasted my time.
Today however I saw him. As I was walking back into my house from freshly mowing our yard. I watched as he with purpose guided his bike into the strip of grass and with a glare towards the house spit on the lawn.
I’m not good at ending stories like this, so I’ll just ask that if you’re raising a child. Maybe remind them from time to time to respect other people’s properties. It’s not cheap & a lot of us aren’t trying to make things more difficult for anyone. We just want to make sure things we’re in charge of stay nice for everyone to enjoy.
I think the moral of this story is: I am sick and tired of working my ass off for nothing🤔 I’m not sure. It could totally be that I thought we had moved far enough out of the city that I wouldn’t have to deal with stuff like this or that I should have left the entire state when I had a chance or that I’m stupid for having stayed here.
