“I’m here to say how much I support the London LGBTQ+ Community Centre project. Anything I can do to help in the future I will do. I look forward to when the project opens, because it will represent a tremendous forward advance, not just for the LGBTQ+ community, but it will be an enormous forward advance for the community as a whole.” @hackneyabbott2015 at our launch last night 🏳️🌈🎉👸🏾

It has been one year since Theresa May lost her majority in a snap general election which she called herself. Thanks to a deal with the homophobic, sectarian and scandal ridden DUP she has was able to keep her job, although not in the strong and stable way she had imagined.
Since then she has overseen the current Windrush crisis, an NHS crisis, a quarter of a million homeless, benefit cuts, policing cuts, rising crime and murder rates, rewarding the heads of an anti-Corbyn smear campaign with a place in her inner circle, making rape victims explain the circumstances of incidents to bureaucrats and maybe worst of all, she has, without hesitation, flirted with WW3 with very little evidence to support her reasoning.
Bit late to the party but labour really need to replace Corbyn as leader. After turning a blind eye to anti-semitic beliefs within his party it truly is time for him to go... To his credit though he is very charismatic. Met him at a rally and you can see he knows how to appeal to his supporters. Maybe its time for him to stop whilst he's ahead? Being the leader of the labour party is quite an achievement regardless of how we all feel about their policies. Maybe take up public speaking, I'm sure he would do well at that.
Here is an excerpt from Labour MP David Lammy speech yesterday, a superbly passionate speech that really hit home -🌹
“Can she tell the house how many have been detained as prisoners in their own country? Can she tell the house how many have been denied health under the National Health Service? How many have been denied pensions? How many have lost their job?
This is a day of national shame, and it has come about because of a hostile environment policy that was begun under her Prime Minister. Let us call it like it is. If you lie down with dogs, you get fleas and that is what has happened with this far-right rhetoric in this country. Can she apologise properly? Can she explain how quickly this team will act to ensure that the thousands of British men and women, denied their rights in this country under her watch in the home office are satisfied”
David Lamy hitting the nail on the head. This is shameful. This is absolutely the opposite of the values of this nation. I’m appalled. Contact your local MP to demand an apology from Amber Rudd for undertaking this ridiculous, cruel, and utterly pointless execution of policy upon people who are British Citizens. #windrush#racism#institutionalracism#antiracism#blacklivesmatter#britishpolitics#politics#ukpolitics#davidlamy#labourparty#internationalpolitics#blm#immigration#dobetter#Repost @guardian with @get_repost
The Windrush generation arrived in the UK after the second world war from Caribbean countries at the invitation of the British government. An estimated 50,000 of them now face the risk of deportation if they never formalised their residency status and don’t have the required documentation to prove it. Many have lost their jobs and even been held in detention centres. The problem stems from a policy set out by Theresa May when she was home secretary to make the UK "a really hostile environment for illegal immigrants". Yesterday, after Labour MP David Lammy made the above speech, home secretary Amber Rudd announced a new team would make sure Commonwealth-born long-term UK residents would no longer be classified as illegal immigrants.

This my next door MP #DavidLammy (if you don’t know, hit the hashtag, man’s a legend). In Parliament yesterday he argued on behalf of the #Windrushgeneration , he told Home Secretary Amber Rudd in no uncertain terms how disgusting she, Theresa May and whomever else is behind this heinous bill is.
I wanna post his words here even though there’s plenty of others posting vids of his speech which is AWESOME. .
“What is going on is grotesque, immoral and inhumane. It is a stain on our nations conscience and the PM must act urgently to right this historic wrong... These individuals have done nothing wrong and there is no basis upon which the Home Office can justify what they are doing. These individuals have lived in this country for decades - working hard, paying taxes, raising their families and contributing so much to our country... I am campaigning for an amnesty but in reality it would not be an amnesty because the word implies wrongdoing. These people have done nothing wrong. Government must simply do the right thing, establish a humane route to clarifying their status in this country & change burden of proof.”
Apparently May is promising to pause her random bomb dropping to deal with the matter that she instigated during her own time as Home Secretary. I do wonder what her reparations will look like. Forvthose already deported, those having lost their jobs, those unable to access healthcare, those having lost their homes and those living under the mental anguish the threat of deportation comes with.
This evening I met the first child born into the NHS! All her older brothers and sister had been born at home. The doctors made her mother hold out until just past midnight and now she is regularly invited to speak about it and how the tories are destroying it. What a legend x x x #nhs#nyebevan#health#labourparty#jeremycorbyn
Thank you to everyone for coming out this evening for our meeting, it was great to see you all. Special thank you to Heather Spurr from Shelter for her informative talk on homelessness and representatives from the Christchurch Soup Kitchen and Christchurch Community Partnership for their attendance.
Looking forward to seeing more of you at our next meeting and on Saturday at our campaign stall, Christchurch High street 10am - 2pm
Saw this guy today in the little town of Bran in Transylvania, he looks just like a #jeremycorbyn#twin#lookalike . He said something in Romanian, before I left, probably "we really should put an end to austerity"
