The aftermath. This is what's left after 354 hours of polishing old aluminum skins. Empty jars of Nuvite polish, black Lake Country wool pads, filthy machines and one beautiful bright and shiny vintage warbird.

Months of diplomatic progress with #NorthKorea has really picked up pace in recent weeks. A historic moment is set for this Friday, when #SouthKorea’s President Moon has a summit with #KimJongun. Ending the #KoreanWar, 68 years after it started, is under serious consideration.

And that’s just the start of the reasons for optimism. A hotline between North and South Korea opened last Friday. The US is considering opening an embassy in #Pyongyang. #PresidentTrump will also be having his own summit with Kim in late May or early June.

North Korea has made numerous significant concessions. They’ve halted missile and nuclear testing and are in the process of closing their nuclear testing site. Most significantly, they are open to a deal to denuclearize the Korean Peninsula without demanding 30,000 US troops withdraw from South Korea.

President Trump praised North Korea’s moves, and while confirming a “long way” to go before finalizing a deal, gave an upbeat assessment. Not everyone is pleased with the prospect of peace in Korea. A number of major media outlets are trying to find cold war to throw on the proceedings.

That’s easier said than done. All the very meaningful deals and announcements of the last four months adds up to a lot. That Reuters managed to find three South Koreans and one #Japanese person who were skeptical means comparatively little. That they’re going to such great lengths to put a negative spin on the talks at all, however, may be much more important.

The Washington Post is also looking for reasons to be suspicious about North Korea’s promises. The New York Times is trying to portray China as an obstacle to progress on a deal. They further cited unnamed US and South Korean officials as believing North Korea’s peace overtures were a trick to get big concessions out of them. Even the Associated Press chimed in with a list of diplomatic efforts that have failed.

68 years of war in North Korea has a lot of momentum behind it. Instead of allowing that status quo to be threatened, establishment press figures seek to derail the effort quickly. #thedeepstatedoesntwantpeace #fuckwar #peace #truth #angelcitytv

A M26 Pershing Tank of the U.S Marine Corps during the Korean War.

The Pershing Tank was named after General of the Armies John J. Pershing. Due to prolong development the M26 didn't see much action during WWII and only saw real action during the dash for the Ludendorff Bridge during the Battle of Remagen. The M26 was planned to fight on Okinawa but due to complications couldn't get unloaded before the combat ended. It would however later see service in the Korean War where it could outmatch enemy tanks; a major drawback was the fact the M26 didn't work well in hilly and muddy terrain and would soon be withdrawn in favor of the M46 Patton.

Grandpa. I miss you every day, and I know even though you'd roll your eyes at me for this tattoo, I know you'd love it. Grandma was always your number 1, and you'd put her on the highest pedestal you could. You taught me so much, grandpa. An amazing husband, father, grandfather, and great great grandfather. I hope someday to be at least half the person you were.. it's not fair, you set the bar way too high♡ Until I get to see you again.

Another classic German pistol developed in the years immediately before World War I was the Parabellum P-08, designed by Georg Luger and forever known by that name. Chambered for 7.65mm and 9mm, the P-08 was accurate and comfortable to shoot, and was taken up in large numbers by the German army and navy. More than 2.5 million were produced between 1908 and 1945. The pistol was comfortable to use and the mechanism was effective although prone to malfunction in dirty conditions. Despite its age, the ‘Luger' is still popular among enthusiasts.

I have a deep gratitude to those families who opened their homes for adoption.

In the aftermath of the Korean War, many Korean children were left orphaned. Bertha Holt and her husband, two farmers from rural Oregon, recognized the need for action and began their lifelong mission in 1955. Prior to the Holts’ intervention, adoption was strictly within the same race – anything else was taboo. Bertha broke down those barriers by openly adopting children from another country and race, thereby proving that those factors are irrelevant to family love. The Holt International Adoption Agency continues to be one of the most successful adoption agencies today. To represent her revolutionary conception of love, I chose two types of fabrics – red silk and blue denim. The two fabrics are interwoven and merged to create an image of Bertha with a child. "All children are beautiful when they are loved." — Bertha Holt

While im at it, I might as well add on that the longest shot was made by Canada’s JTF2 and the sniper rifle used was the one and only Tac-50 at a distance of 3,540 meters. •

I was lucky enough to be witness to a Honor Flight arriving at BWI on Saturday. Aboard were Veterans from WWII, Korean War, Vietnam War, and the Gulf War. They were greeted by active duty members of the Military, and Young Marines. It was touching to see the entire terminal stopping what they were doing to clap and say thank you for your service. .

Korea circa 1953 || #koreanwar
Extreme Territory Changes During the Korean War (1950-1953). On June 25, 1950, the Korean War began when some 75,000 soldiers from the North Korean People’s Army poured across the 38th parallel, the boundary between the Soviet-backed Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to the north and the pro-Western Republic of Korea to the south. This invasion was the first military action of the Cold War. By July, American troops had entered the war on South Korea’s behalf. As far as American officials were concerned, it was a war against the forces of international communism itself. After some early back-and-forth across the 38th parallel, the fighting stalled and casualties mounted with nothing to show for them. Meanwhile, American officials worked anxiously to fashion some sort of armistice with the North Koreans. The alternative, they feared, would be a wider war with Russia and China–or even, as some warned, World War III. Finally, in July 1953, the Korean War came to an end. In all, some 5 million soldiers and civilians lost their lives during the war. The Korean peninsula is still divided today.

The 28th Infantry division or also known as the Keystone Division or the Bloody Bucket Division was founded in 1879 and is still active today! The Keystone Divisions a unit of the Army National Guard and is the oldest division-sized unit in the armed forces of the United States. Some of the units of the division can trace their lineage to Benjamin Franklin's battalion, The Pennsylvania Associators (1747-1777). The division was officially established in 1879 and was later redesignated as the 28th Division in 1917, after the entry of America into the First World War. It is today part of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, Maryland Army National Guard, Ohio Army National Guard, and New Jersey Army National Guard. The 28th Infantry partook in the following engagements...
American Civil War
Spanish–American War
Philippine–American War
World War I
* Champagne-Marne
* Aisne-Marne
* Oise-Aisne
* Ypres-Lys
* Meuse-Argonne
World War II
* Normandy
* Northern France
* Rhineland
* Ardennes-Alsace
* Central Europe
Persian Gulf War
* Operation Desert Storm
Kosovo Campaign
War on Terror
* Iraq War
* War in Afghanistan
* Operation Inherent Resolve.
It was originally nicknamed the "Keystone Division," as it was formed from units of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard; Pennsylvania being known as the "Keystone State". During World War II, it acquired the nickname the "Bloody Bucket" division by German forces due to its red insignia. But today the 28th Infantry Division goes by the name given to it by General Pershing during World War I: "Iron Division". The 28th is the first Army National Guard division to field the Stryker infantry fighting vehicle, as part of the Army's reorganization in the first decade of the 2000s.
The 28th is also one of the most decorated infantry divisions in the United States Army. The Divisions motto is “Fire and Movement, Roll On!” ~~Christian

Russo-japanese war. Was fought by the Russian empire and the Empire of japan over rival imperial ambitions in Manchuria and Korea. Japan seeing rapid modernization saw to expand its influence and empire by taking parts of china but the Russians had the same idea. After talking a bit Russia refused to withdraw from manchuria. Tsar nicholas having an army 5 times bigger and more resources thought it would be impossible to loose even thought most of his men and navy was on the other side of russia. Eventually the japanese attacked on the 8th february 1905 the russian port arthur near korea. And declared war a few hours later. In response the Russians sent troops from Saint petersburg and a navy fleet in the baltic. (i will cover most battles in the next post).eventually after many battles like mukden and tsushima the japanese won the war being the first asian country to ever win a european country. The effects we're 3 decades of peace between the nations forcing Russia to stop its expansions in the area and russian people hating tsar nicholas II more. The Japanese people were unhappy seeing the lives lost not worth it and for the little territory they gained the government ignored the people and eventually expanded more in the future. What do you think about this war?

The Sunday museum tour had a great turnout! We have record breaking numbers of attendees every weekend.
Visitors from all over the world are coming to tour the collection. Yesterday, we had tourists from Australia, Norway and around the United States.
We never expected the museum to become what it is today. What started off as a hobby collecting military items has become a world-wide attraction. We cannot thank our fans enough for showing support over the years and getting the word out.
If you would like to see the museum, tours are given on Sunday's by guided tour only. However, you may schedule a private tour during the weekdays if you have 15 people or more. The Battle of Kapyong is one of Canada’s greatest, yet least-known, military achievements. For two days in April, 1951, a battalion of roughly 700 Canadian troops helped defend a crucial hill in the front lines of the Korean War against a force of about 5,000 Chinese soldiers. Besieged by waves of attackers, the Canadians held their position amid the horror of close-combat until the assaulting force had been halted and the Canadians could be relieved. Their determined stand contributed significantly to the defeat of the Communist offensive in South Korea that year.

Ahh, one of the sexiest airplanes to ever grace the sky!

The Grumman F7F Tigercat arrived too late to see service in World War II, but served in several Marine Corps squadrons after the war. Later, the Tigercat would perform close air support, night fighter missions and reconnaissance during the Korean War.
The F7F was one of the fastest fighters of the World War II era, but was ultimately done in by timing, as its operational life coincided with the advent of more powerful, faster jet aircraft, rendering it obsolete after only a few short years.
