I’ve never gotten this close to a cow before, because I always thought they would attack. This beautiful creature made me realize how friendly, and social cows are. Some of their stories made me tear up and literally broke my heart. It’s horrifying what people are capable of 😥This picture will always remind me why I went vegan. Thank you @poplarspringsanctuary for everything you do for the animals! ❤️ #keepanimalsoffyourplate
My breakfast this morning 😍💚🌱 Ingredients:
1 tbsp of almond butter
1 tbsp of Maca
1 tbsp of cocoa
1 tbsp of flax meal
1 cup of frozen spinach
1 cup of hemp milk
1 cup of water
BLEND BLEND BLEND 🌪 🌱
And ENJOY (If you want an ice cream-like consistency, make sure your fruits are frozen or just add ice) 🌱
This is the definition of a balanced breakfast, this is FILLED with antioxidants, which protects cell life, especially that it has MACA and COCOA, which are superfoods!
Maca is so powerful! (Not to mention the powder smells like cake batter 🤤). It helps decrease depression just like cocoa does, it improves your memory, your levels of energy and because of this, it improves athletic performance and stamina. It also helps balance out hormone levels in both women and men. Particularly in men, it can help them level out their libido and essentially improves overall sexual health (unlike meat and dairy which weakens your libido). Maca root works wonders. Your food can literally be your medicine to physical and mental health. 🌱💚
I don't eat monkeys...but truly when I see things like this it reinforces why I don't eat any animals anymore. I've made the connection. Animals have families. They feel. They love their babies. #choosecompassion#keepanimalsoffyourplate#vegan#Repost @christian_the_herbivore (@get_repost)

You go to the store, you buy bodies in a package. You go home, you cook that body. You sit down at your fancy table, your sunk-in couch, your cozy bed. You eat that body. After it’s cooked, seasoned. You look next to you at your best friend, your dog. You feed your dog some of the dead body, too. You love him, you would die for him, the same way that pig on you plate died for you. Makes sense, right? A cows life isn’t as important as a cats life. A fish from the market isn’t as smart as the fish in your tank. A turkey isn’t as cuddly as the bunny in your yard. That all makes sense, right?
Today I took part in @portsmouthanimalsave @thesavemovement Portsmouth and Southsea Fish SAVE at Selsey Bill Fish Market Gunwharf.
It was a peaceful vigil to raise awareness that fish feel pain, do not want to die, and that we are destroying the oceans by fishing. ▶️josweb.co.uk/seaspiracy/ ▶️ http://www.humanedecisions.com/seaspiracy-what-you-should-know-about-fish-the-ocean-and-more/
71% of the Earth’s surface is covered in water.
74% of all species here are aquatic.
An estimated 200,000 sharks are killed every day for the shark fin industry, or 73 million sharks every single year. They have been in the oceans for 400 million years. Their extinction would dismantle the entire ecosystem.
50 million sharks are pulled from the ocean every year by so-called “sustainable” fishing catches as by-catch, by accident.
The Pacific Blue Fin Tuna has had a 96% reduction in stock levels.
650,000 whales, dolphins, and seals are killed by fishing vessels per year.
90% of top-level marine predators have been lost.
In 2013, one Blue Fin Tuna sold in a Japanese market for a record-breaking $1.7 million.
Aproximately 2.7 TRILLION fish are taken from the sea every year, 40% of which is discarded as by-catch, and 34% are used to feed the animals which people eat for meat, dairy and eggs. So much so, that pigs, cows and chickens are the world’s leading oceanic predators.
87% of fish stocks are fully or over-exploited.
Almost 4 tons of wild caught fish, are used to produce just a half a ton of shrimp.
33% of fish is coming from developing countries that are overexploiting the oceans – responsible for slave labor on fishing boats, taking fish from protected marine preserves, illegal fishing and over fishing, and a lack of fishing regulations.
Seeing the crushed and broken crabs legs and whole contorted crabs in the cages I was reminded of when I was given lobster for dinner as a child. I was brought up to believe it was wrong to be ‘fussy’. After eating it I turned the upside-down shell back around, I saw the full whole red lobster there looking very life like, and out of no-where, I felt extremely queasy. I pushed the thoughts away. Now I understand.
