Alice in Wonderland certainly doesn’t have much of a narrative and instead has more random things that just happen. Usually, this wouldn’t work, but for this type of movie it kind of does since many of these events come back to be a later part of the story. If that entire court scene didn’t happen, then a lot of the movie would feel pointless. There are some pretty forgettable songs that feel pretty useless. The only song that’s notable is “Painting the Roses Red” due to its catchy melody and simple lyrics. Yet, the biggest pointless factor is the short story of the walrus and the carpenter, which felt like a forced Disney short that literally adds nothing to this movie. Fortunately, it’s more so of the character’s personalities and wackiness that makes the movie watchable. Alice is a pretty interesting character, thanks to Kathryn Beaumont’s voice performance. She’s able to make Alice work well around some of the intricate dialogue. Ed Wyn as the Mad Hatter and Bill Thompson as the White Rabbit also give fantastic voice performances that add a decisive sense of fun and zaniness. Ironically there isn’t a bright and colorful background, but when color does appear in the movie, they always burst. It may not have that charm that some of the other Disney movies have, but it’s the characters and good voice acting that help this wacky story feel enjoyable.

This is definitely one of my favourite disney movies! An absolute classic that is very memorable.
This movie follows Wendy and her two brothers who are amazed when a magical boy named Peter Pan flies into their bedroom, supposedly in pursuit of his rebellious shadow. He and his fairy friend, Tinkerbell, come from a far-away place called Neverland, where children stay young. Enchanted, Wendy, John and Michael follow Peter Pan back to Neverland. But when Pan's nemesis, the pirate Captain Hook, causes trouble, Wendy and her brothers begin to miss their own life.
This movie looks fantastic on blu-ray! It's animation is beautiful and so colourful!
With loveable fun characters, a great story, and a villian who you just love to hate; this movie is perfect for children and adults of all ages!!! A must have disney film for your collection!

Alice in Wonderland is one of my favorite stories, and there are so many routes she can take in Wonderland, but after looking at one of my old sketches from 2014, I decided to stay close to my roots this month for #CharacterDesignChallenge and designed Alice as a colonial Filipina, wearing the traditional Maria Clara style dress from the 1800s. The letters on the right read “Mestiza” in Baybayin which pertains a mixed child of both Spanish and Filipino descent when Spain took over the Philippines, a time when classification meant identity. It can also mean a fair-skinned woman in modern Tagalog, Alice is blond and could work… 😏
I need to learn better ways to illustrate digitally, or to just stop being a hardhead drawing everything by hand… 😂😭 -han jin

Even though the storyline is completely bizarre and silly, this movie is still an absolute classic!
The movie follows Lewis Carroll's beloved fantasy tale that is brought to life in this Disney Animated Classic. When Alice, a restless young British girl, falls down a rabbit hole, she enters a magical world. There she encounters an odd assortment of characters, including the grinning Cheshire Cat and the insane Mad Hatter. When Alice ends up in the court of the Queen of Hearts, she must stay on the ruler's good side - or risk losing her head.
Even though the plotline and the characters are silly and pretty much insane, I still love this movie! There's an assortment of unforgettable characters that contribute to a story that is loved by many. The animation is just so beautiful, so many bright and vivid colours.
A must watch for every disney fan!

Back to the movie project and first up is Walt Disney’s Alice in Wonderland, released in 1951. This is one of my favorite animated features. Alice’s journey through Wonderland as told by Walt Disney is considered an “Americanized” version of the story although his intent was for family audiences not literary critics. The film with it’s bright animation provides a nice psychedelic picture mixed with an array of songs that compliment the oddities witnessed on screen. My favorite scene comes from the Hare’s house where the Mad Hatter, March Hare, and Dormouse are celebrating their unbirthdays. Ed Wynn as the Mad Hatter, steals every scene his character is in, while the White Rabbit voiced by Bill Thompson keeps the pace of the film going wherein you don’t feel like it’s dragging at any point. Kathryn Beaumont shines as the voice of Alice and has voiced the Alice character up till 2005. You’ll hear familiar Disney voices in The Queen of Hearts voiced by Verna Felton, and the Cheshire Cat voiced by Sterling Holloway. Day 11 - #REWATCH#AliceInWonderland by #WaltDisney animation is the definitive version of the story for me. Tim Burton claimed he wanted a more active Alice in his remake, but I find this Alice very active. That's because of #KathrynBeaumont who is the best reason to watch this movie. Her voice brings so much character to Alice that she practically jumps out of the movie. Tengo que admitir que es una de mis películas favoritas de Peter Pan, ya que tanto los personajes como su estilo de dibujo la vuelven una película colorida y entretenida.
Por otra parte me gustó que salió de la trama que todos conocíamos de Peter Pan, ya que ésta habla sobre la hija de #Wendy .
La trama los personajes el mensaje y la música son las cosas que más me gustaron y qué más se destaca en la película.
La película habla sobre una niña que en el momento en que quiere soñar se limita con la realidad en la que vive. Sobre que Peter Pan no es sólo un #cuento , sino más bien una historia de felicidad y #magia . Y sobrevalorar el día a día junto a nuestra familia, para que cuando nos falten no nos lamentemos por nuestros actos.
Y para los seguidores de Peter Pan Déjenme recordarles que esta es una secuela por lo tanto no se puede comparar con la original. Y la verdad es que mi opinión no concuerda con la de los críticos profesionales ya que éste es sólo mi gusto.

One of my all time favorite
Disney Animated Classics. I have 2 VHS copies, one of the masterpiece collections and this one is the Disney Diamond Classics Edition.
I laugh, everytime I watch this film. Capitan Hook is so hysterical, trying to dodge the crocodile, while trying to take down Peter Pan, the songs are great, the murderous mermaids, the Indian chief, the opium consumption... an all around wonderful, colorful, hilarious, musically fantastic film.
Walt Disney was dissatisfied with the finished product, thinking Pan was too cold a character, experts on original writer J.M. Barrie praised the film, saying that was the intention.
A great addition to my collection.
Come on everybody's! Here we GOOOOOO, off to Neverland!
