Another #throwback 💙
Even though this picture was taken from the monument for the massacre of Kalavryta I only have good memories from this place.
Kalavryta is a beautiful little village with cute shops and very friendly people. I think what I learned that day was that just because something bad happened, no matter how impactful, your life doesn’t have to be bad. You can make new memories but therefore you have to be open and you have to trust people.
After a majority of the male population was murdered and most of the village destroyed by the Nazis in 1943, I felt zero hate or anger from the people there because they could differentiate us as Germans from the Germans back then and even though this might be a controversial comparison, you have to do the same.
You should only learn from your past but not expect every bad thing that happened to you to happen again. I hope this little piece of my mind made any sense and I hope I didn’t offend anybody. 😘
