✨ @ronaldwinarta / @jesnatte Japan private land trip 13-21 April 2018
Long walk around town yesterday which first took us to the Bristol Holistic Festival in the M-Shed where we attended a workshop on somatic movement - I rarely paid so much attention to my spine! - and a talk on the cavemen (and cavewomen) reactions which are embedded in our brain circuitry.
We finished our day in this lovely little community which looks like a small village from a different time. The land belongs to the council and is part of Bristol City Farm.
We ended up there as Daniel Payne, someone who was doing backrow when I attended The Journey in March (@embercombeuk), is also a member of a charity called Journeyman UK; they were having an open day yesterday and I was invited to come and learn about their work.
We met with some inspiring people focusing on helping 12-18 year old boys transition into manhood. Journeyman is a charity that is about mentoring, acknowledging and inspiring young people during a phase of their life which can be very challenging. It is about giving these boys role models around what it means to be a man today.
A difficult and beautiful mission. "Heal the boy, and the man will appear." •
