Do you have a dream? (I know it seems like a ridiculous question, for surely everyone has a dream..?)
Do you dream big, or have you recently scaled your dreams down?
When I think of dreams, I'm reminded of Joseph.
Joseph and his dreams teach us many lessons about dreaming BIG dreams. (Genesis 37)
Joseph was a lofty dreamer who made the mistake of sharing his big dreams with those around him...(ok, he also very annoyingly bragged about his dreams)
His family hated him for his visions of ruling over them, for being better than them...sound familiar anyone?
Joseph was then first humbled by his experiences, then tested in his FAITH and belief for those dreams to become a reality...AND very importantly, he then went through a process of growth and stretching to prepare his CHARACTER for those dreams he had dreamt, many years ago... IT'S ESSENTIAL TO DREAM BIG DREAMS.
NO-ONE has ever achieved anything significant by not dreaming big... 1. There will be many distractions.
2. There will be many objections.
3. There will be failures and mistakes along the way.
4. You will be stretched, ridiculed and humiliated.
5. If it doesn't involve HUGE growth in character, it's not a big enough dream.
I take courage from dreamers like Joseph. His life and his story keeps me focused and inspired to NEVER GIVE UP.
Other people don't need to understand or "get" your dreams, that's okay. That's NORMAL!
It is YOUR dreams after all.... Hang tight, hold fast, write that vision down. Guard your heart, guard your attention and never ever stop believing that it's possible to achieve the impossible.
God didn't give up on Joseph. He's not going to give up on you! <3
Joseph had a dream...of what God was going to do. His life would at times seem to go the opposite way...but God is faithful...there is a day coming when the dream God gave Him would be fulfilled and he will remember how God gave him this hope many years earlier.
We were delighted to be featured in @thenorthernecho last week for our “handmade with love” tombola that raised money for local charity Joseph’s Dream. We can’t thank our members enough for all of their kind donations, we had jams, chutneys, knitted and sewn items as well as chocolate sledges, craft kits and lots of other handmade loveliness! #womantogether#charity#tombola#handmadewithlove#pimmsandneedles#crafts#josephsdream
