To the woman who gives so much of her own life so I can have mine, Happy Mother’s Day. .
No matter how much time or distance passes between us and no matter how much I may change (to your liking or not 😘), know that you will always be my treasured mum, the strong, elegant, godly and brilliant woman without whom I would not be nearly where or who I am today. Your enduring love and grace for others will always inspire me, and I can only hope to be half as elegant, passionate, and generous as you when I’m your age (forever 20, right? 😆). Love you forever and always, Mommy dear! 💗
Happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful mom and sister, little mom, who liked to take care of me too!
My mom was ahead of her time, she was a warrior woman back in the 60’s and 70’s before people knew what that meant, she walked the walk and still does, she’s my best friend.
Thank you mom for encouraging me to walk a different path, when it wasn’t chic to let your children do so, for letting me walk out of the house wearing patterns and flowers when I dressed myself, because you wanted to encourage my independent thinking and valued my artist soul. Thank you for watering the dry Southern California dirt so I could make mud pies for hours on end, not caring how dirty I became and letting us get cleaned up in a bathtub filled with Mr. Bubbles and shaving cream to decorate with. Thank you for telling my teachers to get me left handed scissors, rather than forcing me to be a right handed girl, in a right handed world, with a left handed soul. Thank you for eating the inventions I made when I played “cooking show” and acting like it was the best food you’ve ever eaten. I still love to cook because of this! Watching every interview I’ve ever done, joining social media and “liking” and “commenting” on my twitter and Instagram posts and for being my biggest cheerleader for life.
And most of all, thank you for showing me what it’s like to be a woman, standing on her own two feet, in this less than welcoming world to women. You showed me how to survive pain with our heads held high, how to look at road blocks as simply obstacles to overcome, how to be your own person without needing a man to lean on or create your happiness. No matter what life threw at you, how many operations you had to endure, you had a smile on your face and love in your heart.
I thank God every day that you are on this earth, another day that we get to share silly and sometimes serious stories with one another.
Happy Mother’s Day!!!

Met this gal @sunshineandyellowroses a year ago today! ☀️ What a year it’s been! We’ve road tripped, had many heart to hearts, loads of hard conversations, lived together, cried together, laughed together, misunderstood one another, forgiven one another, and most of all we’ve come out of some of the hardest things life can throw at one person still loving and supporting one another. ☀️ I was fairly certain a year ago that our meeting was a God thing and now more than ever I’m convinced it is! ☀️ Thankful for you sister friend!
I TREASURE YOU
“When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a Treasure.” It is my elder brother’s first birth anniversary today. I’d like to dedicate this poem to him as my tribute.
I Treasure You
I was the last one to know,
That you bid the world your last goodbye.
Wished if it was all a lie.
Haven’t ever got a chance,
But trust me had I,
You’d have been here, capturing sceneries.
Let me keep you alive,
With your memories revived.
You’ll be safe in my heart;
And won’t have to depart,
O my fondest memory etched in my heart;
You got me undoubtedly the best,
Before you left to rest.
Often regret to have not got the chance,
To have made you feel special.
Makes me feel trifle.
Know that you’ll be watching over me,
Wanna give you a hug,
And tell you how much I love you.
Know that it’s a chimera.
But I promise that I’ll make you proud one day,
Just ask God to make the way.
And remember that,
It’s my way of telling the universe,
How much I love you,
And treasure you,
In the depths of my bleeding heart.
