So it’s been a few days now that I’ve been totally sugar free.
Actually I think it’s well over a week but this time I decided not to count the days, I mean what’s the point ?
So this was my lunch today and I’ve got to say it’s now 6.30pm and I feel ravenous !
My reasons for cutting out the sugar is because I’ve been feeling so ill for some time now and I believe that if our diet is good then everything else physically should start to repair.
I’ve not found it hard whilst I’m away here in Lazarote, I did contemplate an ice-cream earlier but decided that water would be best as I had been walking for hours.
I don’t plan on getting obsessive or strict with this and I know I will still eat sugar in certain ‘treats’ but whilst I’m feeling so lousy I want to do everything that I can to find a solution.

Lately I’ve been doing my morning workouts while fasted with nothing in my stomach except water and WOW! I notice a huge difference not only in my physique but in my energy levels!
I used to think working out fasted was absolutely insane and painful 😂 But now I’ve never felt better during AND after my workouts! The biggest thing is just to STAY HYDRATED !
Royal Hawaiian Orchards roasted macadamia nuts. Although these nuts are high in calories, they are packed full of "good" fats, antioxidants and minerals. The problem is that they are so good, you really need to portion control so that you don't eat too many in one sitting. It's a great snack to eat with jerky and a little dried fruit.
Red boat fish sauce. If you are not familiar with fish sauce, it is pretty strong. Not the best smelling thing you will come across. But if you are into Asian food, specifically SE Asian food like Vietnamese, then you absolutely need it. However, most fish sauce is filled with garbage. This is one of the few that are only made with two ingredients and still tastes great.

Cauliflower fried rice with miso eggplant 🍆 I made it up but totally inspired by all of @jshealth’s amazing cauli rice recipes. Basically this version contains garlic, chili, onion, cauli, mushrooms, spring onion (I usually make it with leeks but couldn’t get any 😞), sesame seeds, egg, tamari & sesame oil, then I made the miso eggplant separately and served it on top to make it a bit more “meaty”. This time I also added some thinly sliced broccolini to the rice and served on a bed of spinach because I definitely didn’t eat enough greens today! Such a tasty, healthy dinner. And I have enough leftovers to last me a week 😳😛

Here is a little breakfast idea for ya 🍓⠀
During most of my prep I ate a big bowl of oatmeal in the morning 😍⠀
Buut we are 6 weeks out of competition so carbs are being cut 😤🔪⠀
In order to still have some volume in the morning without cutting on the taste, I tried mixing in some grated zuchini with my oats! #zoats 🌿⠀
This might seem weird but it actually tastes really good and I have been enjoying it a lot as breakfast. 🍫⠀
♦️Here is how I make it:⠀
▫️200g of zuchinni + 20g of oats in a bowl⠀
▫️Add some water⠀
▫️Heat together in a pan or in the microwave ⠀
▫️Mixture should thicken as the oats cook⠀
▫️Let it cool and the zoats are ready⠀
♦️Make it tastyyy⠀
▫️For taste: stevia, cinnamon, raw cacao powder and zero kcal syrop⠀
▫️For fats and crunch: add sliced almonds, cacao nibs and nut butter⠀
▫️For the nutrients: add any fruit
▫️For protein: mix in protein powder of choice ⠀
This is how I make it but you can be creative with the toppings #Enjoy ✨⠀
Energy fizzy hit. Mineral water with a dash passionfruit... you know you’ve hit the cravings on the head when this is such a rare thing to have 🤩😆

ORGANIC APRICOT GOJI BARS
✅ Gluten free
✅ Dairy free
✅ Grain free
✅ Refined sugar free
🚩Makes 12-14 bars (depending how thick you want them)
🚩Double quantity by making little square bars
• 1.5 cups organic activated almonds
• 1.5 cups organic cashew butter
• 1 big cup organic medjool dates
• 1 cup organic Turkish dried apricots
• 1 pinch of celtic/himalayan salt
• Seeds from 1 organic vanilla bean
• 1/2 cup organic goji berries
• Organic apple juice(optional)
1⃣ Blend almonds until just before they become butter || Remove from processor
2⃣ Blend dates and apricots until they form a paste
3⃣ Add the nuts back into the processor with the dried fruit paste, along with vanilla, goji berries and salt || Process until well combined
🚩If the mixture could do with more moisture, add a dash of Organic 100% apple juice from @foodwiseorganics 🚩
4⃣ Spread mixture in a baking tray lined with baking paper || Dipping your fingers in a little water or organic apple juice can help to spread the mixture without too much sticking
5⃣ Place baking tray in the freezer for at least 30 minutes before cutting into bars || Store in fridge or freezer

Not a single coffee this week 😬 instead I broke the bank and opted for anti-inflammatory turmeric latte’s / matcha’s / mushroom powders (the medicinal kind - not the magic) giving my adrenals a bit of a break from the caffeine . I’m now no longer pseudo energised I’m just full tired 💤 #allthehealth
In a society filled with technology and being bombarded with advertisements 24/7 on top of keeping up with day to day commitments being present all the time is near impossible. But truth is no amount of guilt can change the past and no amount of anxiety can change the future. 🌙
Posted this because I needed to remind myself of this lesson today. I am good at stressing over stuff that is yet to happen but no moment is more important than this current moment. 🔼
