Poll 8 Result: Wine Glasses - Stemware Or Stemless, That’s The Question 🤔 “Stemware” won by a landslide with 6 out of 7 voters preferring it over its stemless cousin. I completely agree with the result! One might say that I am old school and that this vote is in line with my vote for corks over screw tops in my past poll. In this case my vote is more related to the drinking experience.
I am not a fan of stemless glasses for the following reasons:
1. Temperature - I have found that holding the stemless glass in my palm warms the wine to a higher temperature that than I prefer.
2. Scent - Holding the stemless glass in the palm of my hand transfers the scent from my hand (cologne, soap, etc) to the glass, thus interfering with the aromas of the wine in the glass.
The ease of cleaning stemless glasses does appeal to the lazy person in me but not enough to pick them over the stemmed glasses. That said, I won’t be turning any wine away if it is handed to me in a stemless glass! 😜

I don’t think I have a “scientific” reason. It’s mostly just so I don’t get snack prints on my glass 😂😂 @part_time_vintner (Gimme That Stem):
I voted stemmed because I’d prefer that if washing was easier. We actually use stemless more often because they go right in the dishwasher!
I’m a bit torn! I used to like the stemmed glasses till I came across the stemless ones! I found them more appealing & sturdy & that’s the only reason I prefer them over the stemmed ones! However, for whatever reason I like stemmed one for Chardonnays. 😊
@frankfrinkswine (Gimme That Stem):
Washing wine glasses is difficult enough, I don't want to scrub off the extra fingerprints. So I'm just been lazy. 😂
Thank you again for participating in the poll and for sending me your thoughts on the subject! Cheers! 🍷
