Hey, my friend from GMHS (@mollsdavis) helped found this !! It would be cool if you participated, as it’s protesting the gun violence in America. This, of course, includes school shootings, but there’s so much more than that. It’s not just schools that are in trouble. I’ll make a post about gun violence in a bit.

!!!!! I’m proud of you guys! I hope they look at the results and decide to repeal the 8th.
[image description: two articles, the first one says “Irish Times exit poll projects Ireland has voted by landslide to repeal Eighth Amendment” with a woman holding a giant purple sign that says “vote YES”. Under the headline, it says “exit poll result suggests huge majority of younger people voted Yes”. The second article says “world watches as Ireland holds historic vote that could overturn strict abortion law”. Under that is a picture of several people protesting the 8th amendment, which bans abortion in Ireland. Their signs read “my body my choice” “youth defence will not defeat us” and one sign which reads “7 years for r*pe! 14 years for abortion?” referring to the time in jail, as a punishment, for having an abortion, which is twice that of the punishment for being found guilty of r*pe.]
Another reminder for Mental Health Month. For those of you with anxiety, we see you, we relate to you, we understand how difficult and debilitating anxiety can be and we believe you when you say you’re not ok. Believe US when we say that there is light at the end of the tunnel even if it doesn’t feel like it. For those who don’t suffer with anxiety but have a loved one that does, be supportive. Listen and believe them when they say they’re struggling. Anxiety isn’t something you can “just snap out of”. Getting healthy is a process. ✊🏽❤️✊🏻 #MentalHealthMonth

The very first identification we are given in life is our assigned gender. From that moment, countless decisions have already been made for us based on just that one word: male or female. (Note: 1 of every 1500 babies are identified as intersex, which means they are born with genitalia that does not fit typical gender definitions). ✨
Though we have an instant gender assigned to us, our gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation have yet to be determined at birth. It isn’t until we develop a sense of Self and body-awareness that our Gender Identity is determined...(ie. Do we identify in our minds with the gender we have been assigned?) ✨
Our Gender Expression often becomes evident from very young (ex: you “identify” as a female, but you express yourself with masculinity). ✨
It’s important to note that if Assigned Gender, Gender Identity, and Gender Expression are the same, you would be considered cis-gender. If there are variations, you are awesomely non-binary. ✨
In addition to those three major identifiers, we are also culturally defined by our sexual orientation (b/c apparently that’s everybody’s business. 😉) Though this qualifies as an identifier, it is important to note that sexual orientation has ZERO influence from the other identifiers. A person’s Sexual Orientation can also become more complex as they age. Some categories of Sexual Orientation are heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, pansexual, and asexual...and there are even more.✨
Hope this helps alleviate some old archaic belief systems surrounding gender and identity. It’s a spectrum that should be honored in us all.
