“It is better to live your own destiny imperfectly than to live an imitation of somebody else’s life with perfection. So now, I have started living my own life. Imperfectly clumsy as it may look, it is resembling me now, thoroughly.” – Virginia Woolf
A year and half ago I put my two weeks in at the University of Chicago Medical Center and took a travel nursing assignment in Phoenix, AZ. I had never been so scared, excited, or energized quite like that in my life. On one hand, I was super ecstatic to start traveling around and making more money to pay down my student loans. On the other hand, I was leaving all of my family/friends and jumping into a place I’d never been before and signing myself up for 13 weeks.
Sometimes you gotta push the envelope, get a little uncomfortable, and do things that at first may seem a little wild but in the long run shape you tremendously. Looking back, it has been the best decision I’ve made with my career to this point. #tbt#TravelNurse

Keynote presentations feature detailed information on Seattle‘s upcoming 4th annual Rainforest Gala & Masquerade including designer lineup, funding goals, key partners, and how to be part of the global movement where fashion meets conservation.
This season’s Cocktails for Conservation spotlights the Amazon rainforest, one of the largest biodiversity hotspots on the planet. Fragmented forests store less carbon, resulting in increased climate change and decline of species globally. The urgency of conserving the earth's remaining rainforests now goes beyond cultural and wildlife preservation. Proceeds from drinks and ticket reservations support Seattle-Amazon based 501(c)(3) Hoja Nueva (hojanueva.org).
I just got back from an art show hosted by @jessica.serran . Tonight I got to live out one of my biggest dreams. I traveled to Prague to meet and talk art with people that I've only known on FB. What a wonderful show and tasty Czech cocktails. I feel like a true traveling artist. I got to talk to every artist that went through Jessica's "Becoming Artist" program, this was their big reveal. Such fascinating stories and transformation and guess what, one of the artists is from St. Joseph, MN. I used to swim at Avon lake there in the summers AND we both lived in Asheville at the same time. Tonight we met in Prague where she put into words what I believe : We are all facets of God. It is our calling to return to God and we do that by following our joy. Leslie, Carol, Donna, Karen, Shannon, I enjoyed my conversations with each of you. I hope we stay in touch.
Sometimes I decide to go to really random places like Laoag. Okay, it wasn't super random - it was followed by a day of sandboarding, which I must admit is significantly more fun than snowboarding because it's not cold. ☀️❄
The 4x4 ride through the Paoay sand dunes had my heart in my throat, but I made it through.
Wiping out in the sand was pretty fun though. 🏄♂️
