"Dance of the Djinn" is my tribute to Taraf de Haidouks, one of my favorite bands of all time! I've always been struck by the similarity between their music and certain types of American old-time music.

Just a snippet from what I went to last night. This is a routine but to music they never heard before man it was just so special family. Shout to @_excel___ and right hand Chino man this highkey was an epic battle. 1punch man and myself called them the sayain’s cause they were going hard bro. This was probably one of the best jams I been to in my life thank you @theflooridians y’all really pushed the dancers and let them step out of they’re comfort zones when they battled. I’m glad I have the footage of my favorite battles man. Lastly, this was live music so the battles were getting so real at the point on everything. Just performed at One Drop Comedy Club in Tottenham thanks to Queen Sheba Monsterat. All I can say is I never thought word association would go off that well with a Caribbean based audience and in a comedic setting. Thank you thank you thank you. London you treating me nice. Full of surprises and full of Love. Which was the theme of the improvised performance tonight.
Communities that don't get to go to the theatre or that aren't being invited in to watch dance actually really want and appreciate dance. Cause dance like music is transcendental as a language form. I keep being reminded of this so actually everytime I doubt this arty stuff I should remember that what I do is complicit to human life. We yearn for communication beyond understood coded language. We yearn for the esoteric and symbolic.
