It’s Day 22 of #MayWeSplit and this is my very first #TransversalSplit 🤗 This one was brought to us by my awesome Co-host @yggdrasilyoga who came up with this crazy idea to split all month long in the first place and he walked me through every step of the way making me realize my expression of the pose always fell under the pancake split versus transversal and yes I know I’m still so far from the ground, but I had a major breakthrough today thanks to Martin💃🏼🎉 If you swipe you’ll see some minor differences, but I was feeling incredible changes. In the bottom pic I was finally working on keeping toes and knees up, but the weight was in my hands and my hips were SCREAMING!!! I still assumed this how were all supposed to practice to make progress, but Martin said no no nooo!! So the top pic is me assuming the same position but shifting the weight into me legs and that’s when the magic happened✨ No longer were my hips screaming, but my adductors were working and I was able to sink down even lower😬 And it may not be much, but this is HUGE for me! Thank you Martin and I sure hope this can help someone else out there that’s struggling with the middle splits as well.
Also, sending this breakthrough out to @jennyg2bfit for #transversalsplitstuesday 🎉🎉🎉
Hosts (IN POSTING ORDER):

For day 3️⃣ of #ShapeYourShiva we practice #skandasana . This #sidelunge stretches our hips, adductors and hamstrings and is a great prep pose for shiva pose.
➡️ I recommend to slowly get into a pose in a dynamical manner first. Start from a wide-legged forward fold and bend one knee on one side first just a little bit with you exhale. Switch to the other side with the next exhale. Slowly get deeper with your hip with every repetition if it feels good. Otherwise stay a bit higher.
➡️ If you can’t comfortably get into a full squat, just stay up on the ball of your foot (on the side of your bent knee) or place a rolled-up blanket under your heel for support.
➡️ You can use your hands to balance and place them on the mat. Or you can keep them in anjali mudra in front of your heart. If you feel like twisting, you can also try to grab your knee with your hand like I did. If you twist, keep your spine long and your hip squared - only twist from your navel upwards.
➡️ To protect your knee root down the foot of your extended leg.
➡️ Whichever variation you choose, listen to your body and practice what feels good to YOU! ❤️

Day 3 | BackBend ChinStand
The fun begins as we invert our backbends. 😄 I am not fond of chinstands or shoulderstands, and I will definitely be using the wall for the next four days.
I am thinking tripod headstand. Hands shoulder width apart. I am thinking puppy pose backbend. Activate the core. Using the wall to get deeper into the bend. Pulling the shoulder blades toward each other to keep chest open and elbows toward each other.
Chin balance is a crazy deep backbend. Don't rush, be patient. Be where you are—it is a great place to be!

Recently I got to join the FNX family as an FNX ambassador. This was particularly exciting because Margaux Alvarez is one of their featured athletes, and she has also been one of my CrossFit Favorites. Needless to say, as my family watched the South CrossFit Regionals last weekend, we cheered hard for @321gaux .
As we watched an event that featured handstand walks, my daughter asked, “Mommy, which one is your hero?” I pointed out Margaux and my daughter watched her for a bit, and was then inspired to practice her handstands. Watching my six year old “try to be like those big girls” I realized just how important our heroes are. We push to be like our heroes - we emulate their lifestyle, we create camaraderie as we cheer their successes.
The thing is - our heroes don’t have to be famous. Who in your life inspires you to be a better you? Who do you cheer through their challenges? And who do YOU inspire? We all have amazing qualities - things that make the human race exquisitely beautiful and unique. So the next time you’re facing down a challenge, when you’re about to quit, think of the little girl that could be watching YOU - and the hero that you could be.

Today’s mantra: keep moving forward and never apologize for who you are. -
1) I overthink. Just way too mucho.
2) I get stressed out easily
3) I’m a perfectionist so when things don’t go my way I freak out.
4) and... so much more 😂
No one is perfect and I even annoy myself sometimes but I’m slowly learning to love myself completely and at the end of the day that people who truly love me won’t mind the annoying bits of me. #tellyourselfyoucan#selfloveisthebestlove
Loving all your posts! So many of you are taking your yoga outside for spring which is also awesome. Can’t wait to see more of your posts! For Day 3 of our May Detox Spring #yogaclubchallenge we’re taking the twist from day 1 and the lunge from day 2 and putting them together in #parivrttaanjaneyasana ! From your lunge, exhale your hands to heart center. Press your thumbs into your sternum and use them to lift the skin up to lift your chest on the inhale. On the exhale, twist to being your elbow to the outside of the opposite knee (for example in this pic I have my right elbow coming to the outside of my left knee). Keep your abdomen lifted off your thigh. Press your hands into each other working them back to align with your sternum. With every inhale lengthen your spine, with every exhale twist a little deeper. If it feels okay on your neck, gaze up towards the sky. Remember to keep working your hips towards square in this twist so the twist comes from your mid and upper back (thoracic spine) rather than your hips! I’ll bring you a little video tomorrow with a flow you can play with if you feel like getting fancy! 💖
Check out the other hosts for their variations. Be sure to tag and follow all hosts and sponsors 💖

Day 10 of #DoorwaytoMay is #YogisChoice and I am so proud of each and every one of you for making it to the end of our challenge!
I thought fitting that my asana of choice is #ScorpionPose or #vrschikasana in a really big and wide open door. This is one of the first advanced asanas I learned and serves as a foundation for many asanas for me. Don't let big doors scare you. Don't feel small in the presence of big doors for there may be an amazing opportunity waiting for you. Take that leap and whether it is yoga breakthrough or accomplishment at your school or workplace, grab each opportunity!
I had a great time hosting with such beautiful souls and please don't forget to show our sponsors some love!

Change is inevitable.
Change wears many masks.
Sometimes change presents itself as a pretty package.
Filled with promises of sunshine and rainbows.
Other times change presents itself as a big scary cloud.
About pour down spiders and frogs. (Remember I’m scared of frogs)
Things are changing here in my tiny world.
These changes (to me) have presented themselves as those scary unrealistic clouds full of amphibians.
About to devour me.
So I didn’t make it my yoga class tonight.
I had to figure out a way to change my perspective about the changes.
So I got on my mat
After several phone calls,
After a few tears,
And I realized I gotta give my old frenemy Change a chance.
Because it might surprise me.
And magic just might happen.
