First past the post. Boats from some local rowing clubs out on the water a couple of weeks ago to enjoy the weather and the views of Portobello Beach from the sea. I was jealous I was unable to join them.
Today was #NationalTeaDay ! We had planned a day in town drinking tea but it was our one day of summer, so we took to the ice cream shop and spent a day wandering around town stopping to pet every dog we passed, stopping for snacks and to say hello to ALL the pigeons. We bumped into @travelswithmyphone and she joined us for ice cream and we wandered Edinburgh, looking up at all the gorgeous buildings like tourists. We had no where to be, no rushing around and doddled on to the tea time train home. If only every Saturday could be as sunny ☀️
I've been wanting to get out and just lay on the grass for the last three days now but today I finally took the opportunity to do so. We don't get many days like this in Scotland might as well soak them up while we can! I may also have made up a see through lie about falling off my bike and getting "stuck" laying under a tree to get the girlfriend to join me but hey it worked! Enjoy the weekend everyone! ☀️😎
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived. I did not wish to live what was not life, living is so dear, nor did I wish to practice resignation, unless it was quite necessary. I wanted to live deep and suck all the marrow of life, to live so sturdily and Spartan-like as to put to rout all that was not life, to cut a broad swath and shave close, to drive life into a corner, and reduce it to its lowest terms, and if it proved to be mean, why then to get the whole and genuine meanness of it, and publish its meanness to the world; or if it were sublime, to know it by experience, and be able to give a true account of it in my next excursion.
