Something, something doesn't count bc sumo. Crazy enough this 505 on sumo looks faster than my conventional opener at the same weight. Super long day today so this is the only vid I got but regardless gotta keep trucking along...#GainzIncoming .

Whelp, less than five weeks out. Considering I have to travel to IPF Worlds in a couple weeks, I have to make sure training is on point. That being said, I knew today would be rough since I spent 12+ hours in a car yesterday. Hamstrings were tight, hips were blah, but work is work.

thnx @thebuff_ginger for lift offs
150Kg/330lbs opener that was call a no lift with 3 red lights. I took 150 in the back planning to open at 155. You don’t always get to choice what goes on the bar during international competitions, just need to trust the coaches and make lifts. @masheliteperformance @virusintl @usa_weightlifting @earthfedmuscle
Lift. Analyze. Adjust. Repeat.
That’s what we do here and Dynasty Weightlifting. We constantly analyze every single rep done and see what improvements can be made. Here, coach @phattydynasty is doing snatch practice. His first rep was a fail but he knew it wasn’t a strength limitation because he had pulled it high enough. So he went reviewed and slowed down the lift to see what adjustments had to be made. After video review, he noticed that his feet weren’t moving quite exactly the way he wanted. His feet weren’t quite quick enough which delays the amortization time of the movement. With a quick fix and more intention put towards moving his feet where he wanted to, he was able to get it the second time. 92kg snatch.
Weightlifting is a sport about critiquing your technique. If you fail and you just keep trying over and over, you may gloss over the simple thing you need to succeed. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Whether you are coaching others and coaching yourself, take a minute to sit back and really ask what you can change in your technique. It’s not always just “try harder and use more strength.” #dynastystrong .
Gotta give a huge thank you & shout out to @jack_the_deadlift_ripper and @_corey_olson_ for their Deadlift Clinic last weekend at @thestudioventura . They were both full of experience, quality advice, and made sure to work with everybody individually.
Along with their help and guidance, I surprised myself with back to back P.R.’s next to hype man @nicholas_anderson_vta 💪🏽 _____________________________________________________
This is what the Fitness Community is all about: Helping one another become STRONGER.
If these 2 come to your gym for a Deadlift Clinic you will not regret it - nobody left that clinic without a P.R.
🎥:Thanks again to @thejonyhorrorshow For capturing this 405 hookgrip PR 🙌🏾 the angles 😍

💥 Foot pressure 💥
Something we’ve been working on at @pfp_barbell is equal foot pressure and active feet throughout the lifts (thanks @everydayweightlifter @phillysab!!) In my first set I’m not thinking about using my feet and my knees cave in when I stand up. @tomduer cues me to dig my feet into the ground we also pointed my toes slightly more forward in the second and third sets. My knees tracked much better over my feet with this correction. Sometimes the simple cues are the most effective ones. #keepitsimplestupid#firedup
Always learning, and trying to make myself a better lifter. A wise man once told me,
“Think of fitness as skill development.”
I’m not the best, I’ll probably never be the best. But I’m going to be the best ME there is. Everyday I work on something I strive to be better at it, be it a coach, a father, a husband, a brother, an employee. Excellence isn’t achieved by simply going through the motions. It’s about looking at yourself and being honest enough to admit your flaws then work on them.
I had no idea the bar path on my squat shifted slightly forward. But now I do, and I’m not afraid to share my flaws, because well, we all have shit to work on.
That’s the best part about Fitness, finding something to to fix, and when that’s fixed, you’re going to find another thing. As we grow, our body is always changing. That’s the beauty of it all.
The aftermath.. when you don’t take any rest days after a meet and everything turns into a competition. Whoever made a 101 snatch didn’t have to do 90 burpees for leaving out weights the day before, we both missed… It was supposed to be an ‘active’ day for us and this is what happens. Never leaving weights out or missing a snatch ever again.
Competition breeds success, but in this case we might just die. Which ALLSOUTH 85 is going to make it out of this?

#skwaats . #heated n SALTY. I’m never coming here at this time again. It’s full of anorexic high schoolers who skip leg day and think they’re jacked and disrespectful plebs who give you attitude for taking to long in between sets
