If you want your child to read, then read to them. If you want them to learn, learn with them. All kinds of wonderful moments happen during these activities. Learning a new language and teaching a child a second language you already understand is a great way to show your child that success is a journey, not a destination.
As soon as Kinley and I saw @juliecurtin14’s amazing pom-pom earths, we knew we needed to make some of our own and being that we are celebrating Earth Day ALL. WEEK. LONG. 🤓, today was the perfect day to do it! We turned ours into necklaces — one for Kinley, one for her favorite librarian, one for her best buddy at dance class and one for her dance teacher. Oh, and one extra fluffy planet for her daddy to hang from his rear view mirror 🤪💕🌎😁
Thanks for another fab project idea, Julie!! If you aren’t following that lady, you probably should be 😍 She is the queen of both instastories AND fabulous kiddo crafts!!
Stay tuned for the sensory bin that kept K busy for hours today! YAY PLANET EARTH 🎉🌎😁💚
#GIVE YOUR #TIME !!! Raven #volunteering for the first time 🤗. It is not always about getting, getting stuff, THE #BEST THINGS IN #LIFE IS FREE 🙃 Make time this month, even if you just wash an old lady's 🐕, or give someone a #flower ... an Act of #kindness can change someone's life...
Thankful for the Lords work in my heart and his softening my spirit to say more “yes’s” . Friday we had such a great experience on our field trip and today was so much fun at the #ymca camp with a ton of #cousins and other #homeschoolers . In the past I don’t think I would have ever even thought of saying yes to either thing . I would have been way to stressed and to overwhelmed to even attempt it . So my answer was almost always no . Thankful for changing seasons ... warmer weather and heart changes. #bigfamilylife#sendingoutarrows
Hi, I’m Jen and I’m the Director of Home Education Council of America.
Day One of The Ultimate Homeschool Bootcamp was a huge success! And that is me hosting the conference this morning from my tiny home on wheels.
Yes, our family lives in a precious little Airstream trailer. We sold everything two years ago to live the nomad life. We’ve been across the country several times and have had lots of adventures together.
During that time I’ve had the privilege of running @HECOA; which has grown to one of the world’s largest online conference providers for homeschoolers. Follow along and join us. I look forward to connecting with more of you. 😊✌🏼💗
The reason we cut back on our extracurriculars is so we can have more days like this, filled with warm breezes and watergun battles. ❤ Childhood is so very short and he'll be busy the rest of his life.
|Holly| Last one for today. When I told my boys I was doing book recommendations they insisted I add “The Hobbit” to the list. We recently finished reading it together and I have see it playing out in their minds, from riddle games to pretending to slay giant spiders. Experiencing books together as a family is such a magical experience, and I love that homeschool gifts us so much time to read together. You’ve heard enough from me, I want to know what’s your number one book recommendation for read aloud? #HDHolly#readaloud#readaloudrevival#bookrecommendations
Matthew learning his letters while his little sister admires him. He heard his sister actually laugh for the first time as we tickled her and he said, “Nice laugh baby! I love your laugh.”
(The only other time he has heard her laugh was via a video I took, so him getting to hear her to actually hear her laugh was such a blessing!)
This is Carolyne Hays! And this is what she has to say about her skin prior to Rodan + Fields: "Honestly the picture of ME on the left should be burned. The only purpose it serves is a reminder why we should care for our neck as we age. I use the R+F micro-needling tool and serum religiously now. #aerate#fertilize
Is it time you did the same?
Remember, prevention measures heavy!!! Have you had your wake up in the morning, look in the mirror, “crap I’m getting old” moment yet!? 🙋♀️." You can do something about that.
Ahh I feel like I am going to be buried in the trail of everything my kiddos leave behind. 😭
I have about given up on my tirade of "put ____ away", "clean up", "thats not where you found it" and singing that damn clean up song. 😉
I am on the verge of just picking it all up myself and saving the energy of my constant nagging. 😉(It is so frusturating and exhausting)
Then I came across a perfectly timed article (I love when that happens! 👍😁) #itsthelittlethings
Pretty much saying.. *I love you enough to teach you responsibility and not do everything for you.* It would be easier to clean it all up myself (and more successful). It would be easier to tell you exactly how to do everything and do it for you. But where would that leave you in 15 years?? Some how I found the energy to keep at the nagging 😂 but tomorrow if you see all of my kids stuff on the front lawn, please just look the other way.
