My poor, long-suffering mum has let loose now that she's found out I can ingest onion and garlic after a particularly dark five years of having to cook without these Indian staples. She celebrated by cooking this onion and garlic-laden chicken biryani and potato varuval (which is a spicy dry-fried dish originating from South India). To follow the conventions of my new diet, she omitted cashew and raisins from the biryani, avoided using tomatoes and cooked with rice bran oil instead of olive oil ❤️ What obscure diet I'll throw next in her direction is anyone's guess. I'm very happy to say I'm with ZERO BLOATS now – fingers crossed it stays this way.
THIS IS ME
Every HIT patients, vegans, vegetarians prefered soup : pumpkin soup. Since it's the season now, I suggest you try it with various milks : coconut milk, rice milk, almond milk, etc. I prefer adding one cup of rice milk before the soup is ready.
On top of it you can add some sesame oil or pumpkin seed oil. Seeds contain histadin which then turns into histamine, so use very little.
Have a nice evening!!! #histamine#histaminefree#histamineintolerance#vegan#pumpkinsoup#kürbissuppe#healthyfood
Hi everyone! My lunch might appear simple to you, but because of whole grain pasta and various vegetables, it helps our bodies to fight against many diseases, most importantly, against cancer. Let's take a look:
🔶 The consumption of three portions of whole grains a day appears as powerful as high blood pressure medications in alleviating hypertension. When you replace white rice with other whole grains, such as oats and barley, you have 36% lower diabetes risk. They also have anti-inflammatory effect and fix our gut flora!
🔶The World Cancer Research Fund’s official recommendation for cancer prevention is to choose a plant-based diet rich in fruits, vegetables, nuts, and beans. The cruciferous and allium families of vegetables may be the best for cancer prevention. Higher levels of green tea consumption in Asia are thought to be responsible for lower lung cancer rates, despite higher smoking rates. Broccoli appears to protect against DNA damage. Sulforaphane, a phytonutrient produced by cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, may inhibit breast cancer stem cells.

#lowhistamine anti-inflammatory breakfast option no. 1 ❤️
🍯 honey is anti-inflammatory, rich in antioxidants, lowers cholesterol, contains friendly bacteria with probiotic effects, and boosts immunity
🍯 cranberries (bio cranberry marmelade) are rich in vitamins C, K and A, help prevent urinary tract infections and cancer
🍯 raspberries are questionable for many - I added them back to my diet because of their health benefits: they are super rich in vitamins & antioxidants, contain quercetin, prevent infections and cancer
🍯 I used rye bread - rye is good for digestion, reduces inflammation, prevents asthma and cancer, contains free proline (essential amino acid to build proteins), controls your glucose levels
Mast cells are located throughout your body in many different tissues, primarily including dermatological, gastrointestinal, neurological and respiratory tissues. While we need mast cells to protect us from threats, they become a problem when they are overactive and hyper-responsive and will not ‘turn off’. Dr. Afrin, a leading mast cell researcher, believes that between 15 and 20% of the North American population may be affected by MCAS. The symptoms of MCAS vary greatly. As a result, many people spend years, even decades, in search of a correct diagnosis, visiting many different subspecialists. What is more frustrating for patients is that many doctors are not familiar with the multiple ways in which MCAS may manifest.
Learn more about MCAS in my blog. Link in bio.
Allergies are an inflammatory reaction. That is why taking anti-inflammatory medications are the standard of care for allergic reactions. Inflammation of the skin involves pain, swelling, or redness, and is caused by trauma of some sort. It is easily identifiable, and there are simple things to do about it.

Hi everyone! If you want to have a cold dish in these hot summer days, would you like to try this whole grain red quinoa salad? It's vegan, gluten and histamine free 😊 Check below for the recipe:
🔶 For the Salad:
1 Cup Red Quinoa, rinsed
2 Cups Water
3 Small to Medium sized Beets
2-3 Scallions, finely sliced (I used both white and green parts)
½ Cup Parsley, chopped
Any kind of greens you like. I used Rocket and Lamb lettuce
🔶 For the dressing:
¼ Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil (use very little)
2-3 Passion Fruits instead of lemon juice. Or you can use white vinegar which is low histamine
1 Tsp Date Syrup (Instead of processed sugar)
½ Tsp Sea Salt
¼ Tsp Fresh Black Pepper
Boil and cook quinoa in a pan for 15-20min, until the quinoa is fully cooked and all the water has been absorbed. Turn off the heat and let cool completely. Once the quinoa is cooled add it to a large salad or mixing bowl.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 220C degrees. Peel and clean the beets, place them on a tray and cook until fork tender, about 40-60 minutes. The length of cooking time will depend on the size of the beets.
Let the beets cool and add then add the diced beets to the quinoa. Add the scallions, greens and parsley to the bowl and mix.
In a small bowl add the olive oil, passion fruits/vinegar/lemon juice, date syrup, salt and pepper. Whisk together. Taste and adjust seasonings. Pour the dressing over the quinoa and beets. Stir everything together. Ready to serve!
Have a great day everyone!!
Who here is into fermenting, hmm? What are your favorite renditions? I need to make a batch of these zucchini pickles because my god, where else can coriander seeds shine so readily?

How you doin??? If you’re an allergy sufferer, you do your best not to complain how your life sucks right now while everyone else is clickin’ their heels together because the snow is gone and everything’s in bloom...am I right? And you’re tired of the dry mouth, dry nose, dizziness, and restlessness that come with taking conventional antihistamines. Well, meet your new best friend, Quercetin. 🤝You and quercetin are gonna be great pals this season!
If you’ve never heard of quercetin before, chances are you’ve probably had it before...just in lower concentrations...it’s a powerful flavonol found in onions, garlic, apples, berries, and cruciferous veggies like 🥦 and kale. This is why grandma says you should eat more vegetables and fruits! But if you’re doing that already and still suffer, you probably need higher amounts in capsule form from AOR or New Roots. Quercetin works by inhibiting the release of histamine from certain immune cells. And just like any other flavonoid found in fruits and veggies, quercetin has more than 1 health benefit. I have successfully used it for myself and my clients for problems like eczema, mysterious rashes, and even hot flashes. It is also commonly used to combat asthma, high cholesterol, cataracts, and T2 diabetes. Recent studies have shown that quercetin has activity against many type of cancers. So, grandma was, and always is, absolutely right. 👵🏼
Hi everyone! I'm so happy to have added another histamine free fruit in my diet and maybe you can as well! These loquats are very common in Turkey as well as in other mediterranean countries. I remember eating them in summer and boy I did well! Let's take a look at its health benefits:
🔶 Mast cell stabilizer, thus antihistamine food!
🔶 Helps prevent diabetes
🔶 Lowers cholesterol levels
🔶 Reduces cancer risk
🔶 Protects bone mineral density
🔶 Improves gastrointestinal health
🔶 Aid vision, strengthens the immune system
🔶 Soothes the respiratory tract
🔶 Boosts circulation, and decreases blood pressure.
Hope you can find them at the grocery stores, maybe they've been imported already! And don't forget to eat at least 3 fruits daily 😉
Have a great weekend everyone!
#Histaminediet : 👌🏽 #Histamine is a chemical, known as a biogenic amine. It plays a role in several of the body’s major systems, including the immune, digestive, and neurological systems. The body gets all the histamine it needs from its own cells, but histamine is also found in certain foods. People who experience an allergy-like response to histamine-rich foods may have a condition known as histamine intolerance. ✌🏼 🍀The following foods contain a high level of histamine:
fermented dairy products, such as cheese (especially aged), yogurt, sour cream, buttermilk, and kefir
fermented vegetables, such as sauerkraut and kimchi
pickles or pickled veggies
cured or fermented meats, such as sausages, salami, and fermented ham
wine, beer, alcohol, and champagne
fermented soy products such as tempeh, miso, soy sauce, and natto
fermented grains, such as sourdough bread
frozen, salted, or canned fish, such as sardines and tuna
I'm not sure how well you can see these, but around every 'red dot' on my skin is a small pale ring. My immunologist said you may get these after mosquito bites and ingrown hairs if you have a tendency for allergies, or have autoimmune troubles. This is how my skin reacts to a mosquito bite, for instance. Not really sure why my legs get covered with them so often. I don't shave them. Apparently this is called a histamine (or antihistamine, always forget which!!) reaction. Either way, my unsexy legs have successfully made themselves even more unappealing.
Urtica dioica, Stinging Nettle 🌿
After a busy weekend, we're back to plant posts!! Woo hoo!! This image shows three different versions of Nettle... A deep purple, a burgundy/green mix, and a straight up green. Check out my previous nettle posts for closer up versions of these varieties.
Most nettles sting. Actually 5 out of the 6 subspecies sting, to be exact! 😘 Hence Stinging Nettle. 🌿 The reason for this is that the "stings" are actually tiny, hollow hairs, or trichomes, that are found on the stems and undersides of the leaves. These hairs contain a sneaky combo of histamine and formic acid, which when stuck into yer skin on contact, cause the initial stinging sensation and the swelling, itching, burning sensations that follow. Formic acid is the same acid that causes pain when ants bite you! 😅
The easiest way to avoid this sting is to use gloves when harvesting, tho I've actually been stung thru gloves that were not a fine enough weave or thick enough material... Haha! 🤔
The other tricks to harvest are harder to explain thru text, but involve pinching the plant in a way that crushes the trichomes, making them unable to act as needles. Come harvest with me sometime and I'll show you... You could learn at @praxisprojectnewbrunswick this year too! 👌
Once harvested, chopping the nettle removes a lot of the stings, but to be safe when using as an edible, even in a smoothie recipe, I give it a quick blanch at least. Often I just stir fry it! Cooking it removes all the stinging ability!! And makes it into a delicious and nutritious wild green. Mmm... 😍
Have you tried eating nettle before??? Comment yer experiences below! 🌿💚
This is my 16 year old son Luca. He thrives taking TriPlex, XFactor, MegaX and Edge!
He struggles with seasonal allergies. Sneezy tickley nose that runs and those itchy watery eyes. Ugh, can anyone relate?? I can. 🤧That was me🤧. 🏆SLIM fights that crazy histamine reaction. It is fascinating. When regulating my blood sugar with Slim, I not only am spared from afternoon FATIGUE crashes and hangry (so hungry I feel angry) moments where I just grab any food and stuff, I am thrilled to say, my seasonal crazy allergies are not an issues. 🎉
Luca is not a fan of drinking SLIM. But as he was suffering from literal tears dripping from his itchy eyes and sneezing his head off he accepted and downed the 1/4 portion of SLIM I handed him to hopefully eliminate his body’s histamine attack.
Drum Roll Please 🥁🥁🥁🥁✨✨✨ 💥Dramatic difference minutes later😍 His eyes are light pink vs red and watery. His sneezing itchy nose subsided!👊🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 PTL
I’m SO thankful we can support our body with God made plants and minerals formulated into plant based Plexus supplements VS man made over-the-counter chemical medicine that have side effects!✨✨✨
I'll start my weekend with this histamine free, vegan, whole grain spelt pizza. 🍕 How about you? The mozerrella cheese is made from rice milk and fully vegan.
Always plant based, always healthy 😎 Have great, sunny weekend everyone!
PS: The sauce is my tomato alternative sauce which is made of roasting pimentos, red beet, red onions and garlic. You can check the recipe in my earlier posts or write a comment here so that I can tag you.
Today I want to share with you my tomato sauce recipe, histamine free and delicious 😉 I received many questions about my sauce and I answered some of them in the comment section, but after completing my detox diet, I decided to "upgrade" my recipe as I discovered how great red beet can taste with red pepper!
🔶 I used one clove of garlic (low histamine warning), but you can use two as well, if you can digest it.
🔶 10 red pepper (roasting pimentos), sweet ones
🔶 One or two red onions
🔶 One red beet
I cooked garlic and red onions in a pan with olive oil until they are softened, and boiled red beet at the same time in a pot. I blended the red peppers with a blender and added the puree in the pan with garlis and onions, gave them a stir. Then I chopped the softened red beet, added it in the mixture and blended them all once again together and added some hot water. You can add water as much as you like to have the creamy texture you want. I added around 200ml. Then I added spicy red pepper powder, salt and a little bit of black pepper.
The result was fantastic! I had around three small bags of sauce which I put in the freezer. Each bag is enough to use in one dish.
Voilà! I hope you try it and see the result for yourself! I already made a pizza sauce out of it and it had 99% likeness of a tomato sauce!
Have a great start of the week everyone!
