Do you ever get the post trip blues? Yeah...that’s me. Just returned from mind blowing 3 day trek through Death Hollow in the Escalante area of Utah. We crossed water and walked in water more times than I can count. The lush and varied eco system of soft vegetation that thrives inside the deep canyon is in stark contrast to the massive and colorful walls that line the Narrows. We made camp in cave like overhangs on the soft sand. An amazing experience on only my second trip backpacking outside of California. Thank you Utah!
Today, is this (not so little) lady’s birthday.
It’s hard to describe to someone who doesn’t have a pet how much they mean to you. How they are unconditional in their love and loyalty; the feeling when you come home from a bad day of work and they’re waiting for you, tail wagging. .
A lot has happened this past year, the past few months have been particularly hard, but nonetheless, Rhen has stood by me steadfast and unyielding, always checking on me with ears back and trying to wag her curly off-balanced tail. I know that if Leela were still here she’d be super proud of Rhen and the young lady she’s become.
